Minimal Nursery Corner in a Master Bedroom

By Gina Munsey, Senior Editor Leave a Comment

PIN FOR Minimal Nursery Corner in Master Bedroom

[A disclosure of material connection, and a note about partnerships: this post is sponsored. Babiekins received a crib from Babyletto and a rug from Ruggable in exchange for writing and publishing this post. The cuddle bear from Fabelab, merino blanket from Pure Simple Chic, wool pillow from Moon Water Co, and crib linens from Peapod and Nate were provided to Babiekins as part of a separate promotion. The Jesus Heals book is courtesy the launch team coordinators at Harvest House.  Babiekins was not required to write a positive review; all opinions are our own.]

When you live in a small space, each room needs to serve more than one function. My daughter’s bedroom doubles as a homeschool room, and our dining room doubles as a home office. And now the master doubles as a nursery, too.

#Thenewestbabiekins surprised us all by arriving early — welcome, Lochlan Ambrose! — so we didn’t even have a nursery space ready for him yet. Yikes! And after his NICU stay, he moved home to a small bassinet. But this month, things finally stabilized enough around here to create a little haven for him in the corner of the master bedroom.

Since the master bed linen is already white, setting the light and airy palette was easy. I started by layering a large Whitecaps Indigo Rug from Ruggable (it’s washable!) over the existing wall-to-wall carpeting, then paired it with a modern whale-print crib sheet from Peapod and Nate. The whole space is anchored by Babyletto’s 4-in-1 Gelato Convertible Crib in White/Washed Natural. (Bonus: it will convert to a toddler bed later!)

I love how the earthen textures of the Oaxaca-made pillows from Moon Water Co (moved to the master bed when baby is using the crib) counteract the breezy lightness of the other nautical textiles. And of course, no room in my house is complete without books! Favorites from author S.D. Smith and Catechesis Books are close by on my Tolix-inspired nightstand. (The lamp is from Memoky a few years back. Here’s a similar one.) The guitar is in our personal collection, and the Dylan poster is merch from a concert we attended several years ago. The woven rainbow, a promise of hope, was a gift from my friend Spot of Sunshine — she found it on Etsy!

This space is calming, and it has quickly become a favorite spot in our home. It’s clean, bright, and minimal, and the soft golden tones really warm up what might otherwise by a stark look. And best of all — Lochlan is happy here!

Fashionkins// A visit to the Nursery

Once a month we visit our favorite nursery and each of us get to pick a new plant. I look forward to this visit since we enjoy it so much, it has definitely turned into our little tradition. Watching her examine the flowers, the plants, watch her ask the helpers how to take care of her pick, and if her pick is safe for her kitty makes me so proud. Choosing only one plant will never get easier and in the end there will always be a little pouting, lol…

Sleepykins // Gender Neutral

By Zacha Carpenter, Contributor Leave a Comment

When it comes to working on a gender neutral nursery it is best to start off with a very basic color palette, that you can slowly build off of. Keeping in mind colors that would go well with the colors you would want to incorporate once you know babies gender, that way the room can grow with your child. I was inspired by my baby shower theme which incorporated boho/nature vibes. I actually reused the dessert table back drop to put over the crib, which I handmade for the event. Plants are always a great addition to any room and in this case it really helped bring in the nature aspect I was looking for. I added tiny bits of glam with scattered gold pieces throughout for more dimension. Now that HE has made his arrival I have slowly been adding more turquoise and blue’s into the mix. The most important thing to keep in mind is just have fun with it & be open to all colors for either gender.BABIEKINS MAGAZINE | Gender NeutralBABIEKINS MAGAZINE | Gender NeutralBABIEKINS MAGAZINE | Gender NeutralBABIEKINS MAGAZINE | Gender NeutralBABIEKINS MAGAZINE | Gender NeutralBABIEKINS MAGAZINE | Gender NeutralBABIEKINS MAGAZINE | Gender Neutral

Sleepykins // A Fresh + Eclectic Nursery

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Guest post by Live Loud Girl.

We love creating beautiful spaces for the tiniest people. Wether you are more of a neutral boho believer or a pop-of-color enthusiast, this room has it all. Ready to make this little girl on the way feel welcome and loved.

We started off with the adorable baby cot. Add in some cute bedding, a beautiful soft blanket from Kate & Kate Home, a little white neon heart from By Something Els and our old time favourite grid wallpaper and you’re half way there.

To give the room our signature style, we wanted to add some pops of color to the overall neutral setting. So the rattan mirror got a make over and is accompanied by some funky faces.

The changing table by DertigZes is so simple and clean, a new brand that is on our favourite list.

For us, no room is complete without a good shelfie. We used hanging shelving from Ikea for some of our most popular shelfie stars like Pinch toys cars, theMikanu pear, a Lucky Boy Sunday doll by Marmarland and Sol by Aro for Kids.

We literally got our hands dirty with another successful curtain DIY. The orange gives the room a pop of color without it being too girly and it goes so well with pinks and neutrals.

What brings everything together is the gorgeous Lamia Beni Ourain rug by Maison Saadah. Rugs make a room welcoming and add the right amount of structure. A must have for soft and tiny baby feet.

Sleepykins // A Boho Mod Nursery/Playroom in South Florida

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

A hip, young couple recently bought a home in the desirable Valencia neighborhood in Jupiter, Florida.  With a preschooler and baby on the way, they enlisted the help of local interior designer Krista Watterworth to create a bohemian chic vibe for their home.  The homeowners wanted bright, white and contemporary with pops of color to create a clean and modern vibe. This space is a nursery, but the couple wanted their 4-year old daughter to be excited about the space and new baby, so it that doubles as a playroom for her. Krista thought the  bohemian chic style would fit this young international, fashionable couple.  They are well-travelled and the type that strap their baby on and tour the world without a second thought. The bohemian chic style suited the couple’s personalities perfect.  The home is peppered with found, weathered, distressed pieces and a mix of modern and antiques.  Tour the entire home, which is designed in the same bohemian, chic style of the nursery.

Copyright © 2026 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
