A few weekends ago our little family took a road trip to Paris. Being an American who recently relocated to Düsseldorf, Germany, I can hardly believe I am saying this myself : a road trip to Paris! I must admit Paris was a lot of fun with a toddler (even though it rained the entire weekend we were there).
We stayed in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres Quarter, an area with everything – restaurants, cafes and shops. It is also close to the Louvre Museum and the Luxembourg Gardens, where my son had a blast splashing in rain puddles; luckily we remembered to bring a change of clothes. We also discovered the Left Bank promenade called the Berges de Seine (Banks of the Seine) a 1.5-mile pedestrian walkway with edible and floating gardens, patches of local plants and innovative areas for babiekins and their parents to play and relax. We ended our weekend with a fabulous diner at the famous cafe, Le Deux Magot, where my son ate a whole loaf of French Bread… when in Paris!
