The Fall is full of such wonderful warm colors and beautiful smells! Apple picking, pumpkins and a chill in the air. Well, maybe a chill in the air…..
Here in the Southern US it seems the “Fall” doesn’t really hit us until mid November. We still get warm sunny weather to enjoy all the fall festivities but we don’t always get to wear all the fun fall fashions. We would sweat our butts off. Scarves, sweaters and coats aren’t really an option for us at this time but, we adapted our own fall fashions with long sleeved dresses, longer dresses & skirts, fall colors and prints , and fun knee socks. The girls and I have really enjoyed rural exploration and having picnics this fall with their new baby brother. Happy Fall YA’ll !

We were lucky enough a few weeks back to return once again to the country we love to visit, Bali. Its the place we got married at and the country we visited for our two Baby Moons and we love it so. The culture, the food, the smells and the colours make it a place that is unforgettable, and with sun that shines almost daily a great place to escape New Zealands long cold winter. Now that the children are a little older since our last visit and both are now able to swim alone it made for a relaxing and easy holiday. We did some fun activities like visits to the Water Park and the Marine Safari Park, hung out at a few cool Beach Clubs, visited the monkeys and learnt how to plant rice and released baby turtles back into the wild.
I already miss the long lazy days and happy hour cocktails. The shopping is also fabulous and eating at restaurants with amazing food as the sunsets its a real treat. Until next time Bali.
We landed after 16 hours in paradise. A short ride by taxi and we were stranded in Gavea, a quiet, upscale neighborhood with a lot of green surrounded. For us, as a family, security is not an uninteresting point and Gavea gave us this feeling.
We planned to enjoy both ways of the trip – to have enough relaxing days at our pool or turquoise water beaches and some days to explore all the sightseeing. We were really delighted, that sightseeing was not as stressful than expected, because the Brazilian’s adore kids and let us go without making any lines and where in general very friendly and warm people.
A perfect place to escape of some hectic city life was the Botanical Garden, which offered impressive palms, meat eating plants and waterfalls. The kids were running through the park and explored multiple greenhouses, some monuments and had fun with walking stairs up and down to overview the park.
Another dream spot, we had on our bucket list, was the small beach located right below the Sugarloaf, which is really an amazing piece of earth. The beauty of this special light and the view we definitely enjoyed.
We were also spending the evenings listening to the rhythms of Rio´s music, which you can hear allover the city and got spoiled by delicious food of our hotel´s kitchen.
Why do we think, traveling with two little kids from Europe to Rio is a good idea: first of all, Rio is captivating with a mix of relaxing vibes, exotic animals to be close to, outstanding sightseeing and a incomparable spirit of the Cariocas. The kids can discover and learn from different cultures and live long from spectacular colors, soulful music and postcard perfect landscapes, which make the best family adventure.
This was our family’s first Thanksgiving since moving abroad, so we decided to spend it together being thankful for each other and for the opportunity to live in Germany by visiting and spending the night in a castle. We headed to one of my son’s favorite places, Anholt Castle, where we spent the night in a corner room of the castle, had a delicious family dinner and explored the castle and its grounds. My son had his map in hand to lead the way, while my husband and I followed with our cameras. My husband captured images of the castle and the light refracting off of the moat, while I took pictures of my son as his imagination had him discovering, and dueling dragons in the moat.
