Momkins // Park Play

By Brittany Williams, Former Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Playing at the park is universally something we all do with our children. There is something so sweet about watching your kids smile and giggle as they slide down the big slide and swing high up in the sky on the playground. For me, going to the park is one of the many joys that presents itself during the busy week, and it allows me to slow down time and just watch in awe as my babiekins have fun and just be little. Comfy cottons, layers, and great denim are the perfect ensemble for running around in the grass and playing tag. A fabulous Rancher hat finishes an outfit and matching serape blankets are especially fun for a family picnic, with baby snuggles for dessert. Babiekins Magazine | Rancher hat and serape

Momkins // Sandcastles vs Snowmen

By Brittany Williams, Former Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

I am one of those people that prefer sand instead of snow, even in December! Christmas at the Beach is some type of magic, when hardly a soul is there and I get to chase endless waves with my kids. The perfect thing to throw over your swimsuit when it is chillier than in the summer months, is a cozy, oversized cardigan. I love a good classic Black Swimsuit because it never goes out of style, and it is effortlessly chic. A pop of color added over the Black is a fun way to mix it up and added details like fringe make it even better. It’s like wearing a comfy blanket to the beach, without actually draping yourself in one. So instead of building snowmen, lets build sandcastles!

Momkins // Grey on Grey

By Brittany Williams, Former Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Grey is not a typical color that most associate with happiness. For me however, it makes me smile because it is the perfect neutral base for any outfit. I find myself gravitating toward more grey than ever before. Pair this dull shade with black and it’s chic, brown and it’s earthy, navy and it has a cool vibe. I also love wearing different hues of grey at the same time for a more monochromatic look. A graphic tee that has a long and lean cut, paired with a shrunken motorcycle jacket in a different shades of grey, makes for a casual but fun outfit that I can wear running after my kids or running errands all over town. Navy corduroy flares add a different twist then typical denim, and boom! Nothing dull or moody about this ordinary color. Babiekins Magazine | Grey on Grey

Momkins // Less is More

By Brittany Williams, Former Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Trends are always fun, but you cant beat classic and simple pieces. On days that I don’t feel like putting a ton of effort into my outfit, I just take it back to the basics. The philosophy of “less is more” is applicable to anyone’s style. Keeping it simple allows you to put minimal effort into your outfit while still looking polished. The power of great fitting denim and a good slouchy tee are underestimated, and both of these basics are a must in my wardrobe. Once I find a perfect fitting tee and jeans, I will wear it over and over again, until I deem it unacceptable to bore myself with the same outfit. No more “I have nothing to wear” complaining allowed. All you have to do is take it back to the simplest form of getting dressed; jeans and a good old t-shirt.

Momkins// Little Navy Dress

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Modeling and styling by our new style contributor, Julia Arielle Cox.

A jewel toned navy dress can be as versatile as a little black dress. Give your look an update with structured cross body bag and a belt. Navy is a great color base and styling it differently every time you wear it, will give the piece longevity. This same little navy dress could be worn with a cropped jacket and boots for cooler days.

Sleepykins// A Space for Livia in Holland

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

My name is Kirsten. I’m from Holland and I am the happily married mum of Livia (16 months old). I’m honored to be featured on this amazing magazine’s site. I just love to look for inspiration about interior design, especially kids’ interiors. I’m always busy in our house, rearranging and creating new corners. When I was pregnant, I couldn’t wait to start with the baby’s room. The first thing we bought was the wallpaper, it’s from Fine Little Day. I love the print and Livia does, too. She wants to count all of the little trees. I love the “seventy tree” panda poster and it looks great on that wall. I’m also a big fan of vintage items. I always use vintage furniture. In this room, the shelves are all vintage. I found them online on Marktplaats, a dutch second hand website. The lockers are from Ikea, I like them in this room because I didn’t wanted the room to be to “girly.”
Urban Outfitters sells nice rugs, like the one in Livia’s room, and quirky accessories.

In our living room, we created a separate corner for Livia to play. The tent from Ferm living was a birthday present as were the little “Brio” stove and cart. We put up some shelves, so I can always change the things I put on it and create different moods. And I change things around often because I just like too much! Some of my favorite dutch web shops are www.suussies.nl for beautiful dolls and www.psikhouvanjou.nl for toys, books and accessories.

LUVKINS :: 8 Mint Finds

By Gina Munsey, Senior Editor 2 Comments

  1. Klimenkoff mug via Depst | 2. Wafflish Waffle bermuda shorts via Lilli Bulle | 3. Clarkeye frames (for mama) via Urban Outfitters | 4. Stelton laundry basket  via Voor Thuis | 5. “Here’s Looking at You, Kid” print via Helen Robin | 6. Art Doll via Sweet Bestiary | 7. “You Make Me Happy…” metal sign via Lark | 8. Apple cushion via Studio Meez

There’s something so cool, crisp and clean about mint. It’s just such a refreshing shade, and one that’s everywhere this spring. (Pantone’s spring 2013 color report calls it Grayed Jade. So pretty, right?)

I can’t decide what I like best in this round-up. I keep eyeing that tiger mug, but that’s probably just because my own coffee mug is empty. ; )

Let us know what color you want to see next!

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
