Peanut Butter and Jelly is favorite and go-to meal for most households, especially with little ones. April 2nd is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day and although it has has passed, any day can be a day to celebrate Peanut Butter & Jelly! Elsie and Sadie went head to head with their favorite, “the Peanut Butter” and “the Jelly”! And who doesn’t love Donuts? We decided to combined the two to celebrate PB&J Day with PB& J Donuts! All you need is Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits , Powdered Sugar and of course the PB&J . The easy instructions to make the biscuit donuts can be found on the Pillsbury’s website. I took the donuts, covered it in powdered sugar, sliced it in half and then added the PB&J. It was fun, it was messy, it tasted amazing , and it was a hit! Kid and adult approved, this treat is a great way to commemorate PB&J and spend some time outside in the warmer weather.
We are SO excited about the new brand Ice Cream Castles and their new Summer collection. It’s bright, quirky and so much fun! The debut children’s fashion label from Los Angeles designers Wells Butler Nathan and Veronique Vicari Barnes, Ice Cream Castles plays off of the pop sensibilities of the 1980s, incorporating kitsch details into rockstar vibes. The collection of patterned joggers, playful graphic tees and nostalgic pullovers sets the stage for playground punk.
We couldn’t wait to try some of their goodies on Cruz!
Be sure to follow them on instagram, Facebook and sign up for their newsletter to learn about all the exciting things they are doing!

Leaky ink pen. Receipts so faded you can’t even make out the total. That chewed up granola bar your 2yo sampled and left in your purse when you weren’t looking. Expired coupons. Bobby pins. Is it just us, or does this sound a lot like your purse, too? This month, take the Purge Your Purse challenge! Take ten minutes, dump it all out, sort, toss, put away — and reclaim your purse. Our Editor-in-Chief @mamaandthetribe just took the challenge. She won’t tell us what she found in the dark depths, but we’re sure crazy about how it looks now!
P.S. Want to share your challenge? Tag us at #babiekinspurgeyourpurse and let us see!
Summer has arrived here in New Zealand so it means pool parties, playdates, park visits, beach days and bike rides. I love all the new season bright bold colours that make the kids easy to find in the masses that are everywhere over here in the school holidays. As well as the colour bursts the quality is outstanding and its both comfy and cool. With the introduction of new brand The Animal Observatory we have been miss matching with a old Fav Bobochoses, a marriage made in heaven. Now to just get a NZ stockists ill be a happy camper.
Thank you sobeaubaby for stocking bobo over here.
If you’re looking for a non-candy valentine to give this year— look no further. These hilarious whoopee cushion valentines will have your babiekins floating away.
As I started to plan non-candy Valentine projects, I thought about what my hilarious boys would say is fantastic — not smooches or lovie-dovie stuff for sure! While browsing Zurchers, I saw they had our favorite whoopee cushions — perfect! We bought those and then created funny little “Whoopee Be Mine” printables to use as tags. Just use a hole punch to add two holes to the tag, then find some baker’s twin or other string to attach to the whoopee cushion. Now what little girl or boy wouldn’t think this is a great valentine?!

Researchers say that the color blue encourages us to think outside the box and be more creative. Luckily I have started a love affair with the color blue this year, especially after I laid eyes on these tights. But I think in general I have headed into a cooler tone color palette and have mixed in neutral shades to finish the look off. It’s easy on the eyes and super chic . So throw in a little blue in your outfit and let your cool creative juices flow as we dive into 2016!
