Sometimes as a Mom it is hard to find outfits for the whole family for special occasions. Dressy, but not super dressy!
I often ask myself, ” what are we dressing the kids in?” for an upcoming holiday or event. Easter has recently come and gone , and Mother and Father’s day fast approaches. I found the answer to my question while looking to pieces that are “timeless” in style. Classic designs from other eras and simpler times are making a comeback. Embroidered smock dresses became popular as early as the late 18th century and are still worn today. What better place to wear these outfits than at the 130th birthday celebration of Pullen Park here in downtown Raleigh. As I photographed the family, I felt as though I had lost track of time. These sweet outfits and this gorgeous old park, I really could imagine what this park may have been like in earlier years. A time when life was more simple.
