Aubrey’s back, this time inviting us along with her and her family as they explore the National Zoo! -Editor

Last Saturday, we made the three hour drive from Philadelphia to Washington D.C. for a quick two days of fun.
Our first stop was the National Zoo. It’s part of the Smithsonian Institute, and an added bonus? There’s no admission fee!
Fun and brightly-colored animal-themed t-shirts and prints are a must for my babiekins, especially at the zoo!
The National Zoo is quite large (it covers over 150 acres) and a bit hilly so we were prepared to do a lot of walking.
I chose comfortable sneakers, and fedora hats for stylish sun protection. Fortunately, there are fun water misting machines along the walking paths to help us beat the heat!
On Sunday, we went for a hike through Rock Creek Park, a national park in the heart of D.C. The roads throughout the park are closed to vehicles on the weekend and it very popular for joggers and bicyclists.
The weather was perfect and we even spotted a deer with her two fawns.
When’s the last time you visited the zoo near your home?
