Babiekins Holiday Fashion Trends: Plaid

Tartan was everywhere this fall and the trend continues into the Holiday season. My favorite Holiday styles for myself & my babiekin are plaid dresses, shirts, trousers and bowties. In fact, I am on the search for the perfect plaid dress for me and tartan shirts for my boys; and, while searching for our Holiday Plaids, I came across so many adorable check dresses, bubbles, shirts, pants & accessories for babiekins that I decided to share a round-up of them with you!

I think this Holiday Season you can have a lot of fun with plaid: try to mix & match them; wear plaid head-to-toe; layer with a check coat; or try new color combinations.

This fall, make sure your babiekins update their wardrobe with a great coat. A statement coat is not only practical (keeps your babiekins warm) but it also is the hottest trend this fall season. My favorite statement coats are plaid coats, especially ones with an extra point of flare applied with flower trim or lace, an oversized bow, a fuzzy warm collar or embroidered with some sparkly sequins. My only wish is that these adorable coats came in adult sizes for me too!

Whether you and your babiekins are celebrating this 4th of July at a parade, barbecue, beach, fair, picnic, baseball game, family reunion, fireworks or all of the above, a plaid shirt or dress in Red, White and Blue is a classic look that says “I Love America!”

Your babiekins can also literally say it with a fun graphic tee or tank – because, Yeah America we are Born Free! To complete their perfect patriotic look, throw on a pair of statement sunglasses and sandals; then, grab a picnic basket and enjoy your upcoming 4th of July in the amazingly diverse country that is America!

Travelkins // Autumn Sea Air

By Donna Tweedale, Former Contributor Leave a Comment

There’s something special about small British coastal towns in the Autumn. You can cover miles of pebbled beach before you see another family. Breathe in the fresh air, listen to the waves crash against the walls. Talk about everything, or not speaking a word.

From running up and rolling down hills of pebbles to sitting and taking your time to find the perfect stone for skimming. Layering up for bright days of exploring modern sculptures to 16th Century buildings and playing for hours with toy sail boats on the boat pond just as children did before us in the 1950’s.

Luvkins // On Trend, On the Grid with Jacadi Baby

By Gina Munsey, Senior Editor Leave a Comment

Sometimes the line between classics and trends is just a teeny bit blurred. Case in point: plaid, gingham, check. The simple grid pattern is definitely having a moment right now. We love it! If you’re heading to a baby shower this summer and you can’t decide between trendy and classic — go with both. Our favorite patterned picks from Jacadi’s baby collections (and their home/nursery line) are both perfectly heirloom-quality and perfectly up-to-date.

Fashionkins // Mumma’s Hat Thief

By Donna Tweedale, Former Contributor Leave a Comment

Since this one started school in the fall, I’ve been making the most of choosing his outfits for the weekends. I love seeing how he’s starting to inject his personality into how he wears his clothes; they bring out his playful side.

This Christmas holiday I just couldn’t get enough of him in this outfit. Plaid and denim the perfect weekend combination. Rocking his Mumma’s hat that he’s become partial to poaching from time to time; when he wears it as he does, who am I to argue!

Momkins // Thanksgiving Threads

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving day is tomorrow! For us, it’s a special day to be with family and give thanks for all the blessings we have. We love doing it in style. I’m a huge fan of black and it so happens, I found this lovely set that looks just perfect for this occasion. It makes me feel sexy and elegant at the same time, plus it’s so soft! As for my boy, I always like him best in clothes that are comfortable, but on a day like this, I love for him to be all dressed up, too. I wanted to find something that looked the part and was comfy at the same time. Everything he’s wearing is from baby Zara, and I love it! it’s also so soft to the touch and I think he looks so handsome.

Copyright © 2019 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
