Stripes are coming after this mama’s heart. Is there anything cuter than a toddler dressed in stripes? I am loving this adorable set from Marloe Jr. The jersey fabric is incredibly soft and light weight – perfect for Spring and Summer days in the park. You can check out the entire collection here. Urban Baby Runway is offering Babiekins readers 10% off your entire purchase! Just use the code BK10.

Sleepykins // Jeanne’s room

By Isabel Leave a Comment

When I found out we were having a girl last year I immediately started thinking about her little room. She is almost 9 months now and I think I am finally happy with the result. I kept changing things around and adding pieces here and there. It is one of my favourite rooms of the house.

Fashionkins // fashion for the littlest one

By Katleen Leave a Comment

When it comes to fashion for babies, I think comfort is the number one priority.  They sleep a lot and in the times when they are awake, they love playing, kicking, and rolling over.  Or at least they try to!  I have come to learn that also for babyclothes, quality is more important than quantity.  I love brands like Mini Rodini and Bobo Choses because they are fashionable, organic and comfortable!

Fashionkins // Lilou’s choice 1

By Katleen Leave a Comment

My girl Lilou is almost 4 and I feel everyday that she wants to have a say in what she wears more and more. My first thoughts were “Really?! Already?!” and I must admit that first I was not so happy about it… Part of letting go the tiny baby that she once was, I guess.  Now I’m getting quite excited to see her develop her own sense of style, well…most of the time, but let’s be honest, sometimes I get horrified…

We agreed she could choose her complete outfit once in a while and I thought about making a little series of Lilou’s picks here.

Today she chose to mix leopard leggings with her elephant Mini Rodini sweater and I was thrilled!  Mixing patterns and colours, a nice idea for spring! Adding a little denim jacket for colder days and we’re good to go.  I would have combined this look with her black Converse shoes, but she on the other hand, likes some sparkle… so the golden glitter sandal it is. “They match the golden buttons on my denim coat, mama!” Oh my… did she just say that?! I guess she truly is my girl…

Enjoy your mixing and matching too!

She mixed it with leopard print leggings, similar here.

Partykins // Easter prep

By Isabel Leave a Comment

Easter is on its way, so a little DIY is in order.

All you need are some white plastic eggs, scissors, a black marker, black dot stickers and little tote bags. Easy.

I used a fabric marker to write on the tote bags for the kids.

I also made Jeanne adorable bunny ears using felt, cardboard and a headband. Below you can see how I put it together.

Hope you all enjoy this time of year. We do, especially the chocolate that comes with it!

Travelkins :: Packing for stylish littles

By BrittR, Former Contributor Leave a Comment

So today was the last day of school for my boys and we are really getting serious about our vacation time!

It’s a two-week holiday for us, and we are starting to pack up our things so we can hit the beach in style! pack44    beachgo33 pack66 trunks2 pack55 pack77 beachgogo bobosummer2

1. Tees are a must.

2. Bringing along our lovies & blankets.

3. Sharks, stripes, and a jolly captain print, means beach vibes for sure!

4. These short trunks help keep my boys legs from getting irritated after long beach days.

5. For the kid on the go, like my Cash. And cars, cars, cars!

6. More packing and lots of bright outfits.

7. Eye gear.

8. Oh yeah, and those outfits I’ll have handy on the way passing by a gazillion produce stands, yummy! Can we say photo opp?!

Can’t wait to overload you next time with candid beach photos, so get prepared!

XO

MOMKINS :: Aubrey’s Top 5 Tips for Working from Home with Littles Around

By Gina Munsey, Senior Editor 5 Comments

Instagram can be a really inspiring community, don’t you think? There’s always something beautiful to see — and new people to meet! We first chatted with this lovely mama on her Instagram account @aubreyheidi — and as we oohed and ahhed over her little cuties, we knew we wanted to get to know her better.  In fact, you’ll get to know her better too, because she’s going to be blogging for Babiekins every week!

Top 5 Tips for Working from Home with Littles Around via Babiekins Magazine

Aubrey lives in the Philadelphia suburbs with her husband, son Kolton (4), and daughter Kira (2).

Here’s what Aubrey told us about Kolton and Kira’s style: “I’m crazy excited about matching, mixing and swapping my children’s clothes to coordinate with one another. Two of our favorite brands, Bobo Choses and Mini Rodini make that super easy because their clothing is gender neutral and their prints come in several colorways. I’m also excited to outfit my children in sustainable and organic, yet stylish clothing that inspires a sense of playfulness with their whimsical designs. So fun!”

As we chatted with Aubrey more, we learned she works from home. That struck a chord with us here at Babiekins — we know all about that — and we know it’s not without challenges! It’s hard to get anything done — let alone a full-time job — in the same house as two very busy littles.

So we asked her to share her secrets with us, and here’s what she had to say.

Aubrey’s Top 5 Tips for Working from Home with Littles Around

  1. Beast Mode – When you have free time to work, WORK and work hard! Close your personal email and any other distractions on your computer, power through your work.
  2. Plan a Play Day – Every alternate Thursday my nephew comes over to play. It might sound crazy to have another child come to your home when you need to work, but it usually works out pretty well. The kids are so busy playing together, I find they often need me less. The following Thursday my kids will go to my sister-in-law’s home and I get a free day to work.
  3. Plan Meals – I like to make my children’s lunch the night before so I’m not spending a lot of time in the kitchen preparing food during work hours.
  4. Ask your Partner for Help – My husband wakes up with our kids and feeds them breakfast and that is a huge help. It gives me time to sleep an extra hour and shower before he leaves for work. Ask your partner to bathe the children and put them to bed, prepare meals, or fold the laundry, every little bit helps!
  5. Outsource – When things blow up, enlist more help! Have a list of sitters you can depend on if you get in a pinch. Hire a cleaning service to help save some time.

Do any of you work from home, too? Chime in in the comments — let us know how you get stuff done!

Copyright © 2021 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
