As it is finally starting to cool down from a long and hot summer, adding a kimono over your favorite maxi dress is a great way to layer. I love this vintage kimono I found at a antique mall a couple of years back; it has been on heavy rotation in my closet ever since! An outfit like this could go so many ways; some sandals for a casual look, some boots for a more edgy look or some pointy toed flats for just the right amount of chic. A great option for mama- expecting or not!
Fall/Winter is definitely the easiest and comfiest time to be pregnant. It is cooler outside which gives way to a lot more options for dressing a baby bump! Lots of layers, socks, boots and tons of new options for styling. I will be living in this cashmere maxi dress this season! It perfectly accentuates the bump while staying comfy and it is perfect for layering. I added a favorite of mine, this vintage suede trench jacket, for that extra light layer on top and a great stiff brim hat. To complete the look, I threw on some slouchy socks with my tried and true Clarks boots. This outfit stands the test of time and is cozy to boot! A great option for both pregnant and non-pregnant mamas!
Transitioning from Summer to Fall can be tricky, especially with a baby bump! A fitted maxi dress can never do wrong and is perfect for layering. Add a nice light trench and you can instantly transition easily to fall for those cooler nights without adding too much bulk to your outfit. Once it really starts to cool down, adding some socks to the mules and a beanie would really complete the cozy look.
The perfect summer maternity outfit is a caftan style dress. I prefer one that is mostly open and flowy to give me the comfort I want but, still hugs me in all the right places to flatter and show off my curves. This dress is one of my favorites and I love to pair it with nicer and dressier pieces to keep it from being too frumpy! The vintage boho look of the caftan contrasts nicely with the black ankle strap pumps and the sleek leather backpack. I wore this look for a night out with my husband, and I felt like I stuck to my true style while remaining comfy and cool. And that’s a BIG deal in this Texas summer heat!
