LIL’ STYLEKINS :: Sisters Alma and Nogah

By Gina Munsey, Senior Editor 2 Comments

Alma and Nogah's Lil' Stylekins street-style feature on the Babiekins Magazine blog

It’s our first sisters edition of Lil’ Stylekins! Let’s get to know them better with a little Q & A, shall we?

ALMA // 6.5 YEARS OLD
What is your favorite thing about being sisters with Nogah?
My favorite thing about being sisters with Nogah is that we love each other, and that she makes a lot of paintings for me.

What is the worst story you ever read?
We didn’t really find the worst story, just a terrible magnet book we got at the supermarket. But right now I really love The English Roses series by Madonna, because of the illustrations and the stories.

What is something your mother says to you often?
Our mother often call us “miflatzot” – monsters, and “bananot” – bananas.

NOGAH // 5 YEARS OLD
What is your favorite thing about being sisters with Alma?
If I didn’t have Alma I wouldn’t have anyone to play with at home.

How do you decide what to wear every day?
First I think about it. And then I ask my mother what’s the season of the year.

What would you do if you owned all the balloons in the world?
I would throw a few away. I would put a few outside to blow in the wind. I would sell them until I had just a few left for myself.

Oh, they are such sweethearts! The girls’ mother, Yael, tells us Alma is quite the stylist when it comes to getting dressed with her sister. “I just get them the clothes,” she says, “but they have completely independent opinions about how they should be worn.”

SLEEPYKINS :: Alma and Nogah's Room in Jerusalem

By Gina Munsey, Senior Editor 4 Comments

Last week our featured room was in Paris, France, and this week it’s in Israel!

Alma and Nogah’s mother Yael writes, “We live in a small apartment in the center of Jerusalem, Israel. We like to consider Alma and Nogah’s room as a reflection of their reach and joyful world. The paintings on the wall were made by their grandmother (called mémé), and the photos printed by ixxi were taken at our last trip to Greece. They have many ceramic works they made at school on the shelves. Almost all the furniture was found in the street or bought secondhand, except for Alma’s beautiful bed that was commissioned especially from my brother-in-law.”

What a happy, happy room! Thanks for sharing with Babiekins, Yael.

Now it’s your turn — tell us about the special places where your children sleep and play, and we might pick your room to be featured here on the Sleepykins series!

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
