With the stretch of summer ahead of us, it is a time when many of us are packing our bags and heading off to new destinations.
Since the most common image of Greece is of the tiny white islands such as Mykonos, the coast of the Peloponnese has been left nearly untouched and an ideal place to vacation with children. It’s quiet beaches are frequented mostly by the Greeks, the restaurants nearby run by Yiyias and Papous (grandmas and grandpas), and the pace is slow and relaxing.
Renting a car at the Athens airport is a breeze and so is navigating the highways. We like staying somewhere like Paris Village for a little of a “live like a local” feel but with the added bonus of a pool!
When we ask our kids where their favorite adventure has been, Greece is always at the top of their list! It is pretty hard to beat those long, warm nights, the cool dips in the sea, and a brisk morning swim in the pool!
Don’t forget to let the kids try Souvlaki (Greek shish kabobs) and Saganaki (Greek flaming cheese!) Opa!
