May 15th is National Chocolate Chip Day, the extra sweet to any treat. We decided to look past the obvious Chocolate Chip Cookie ( which has it’s own National Day as well) to celebrate Chocolate Chip Day. These tasty Morsels can be a great addition to Muffins, Ice Cream, Cookie Bars, Brownies , Granola Bars, Trail Mix, and our pick of the day, PANCAKES! We made mini chocolate chip pancakes, a fun and easy treat that you can make with even the rowdiest of toddlers. According to Elsie, mini pancakes are to be eaten all at once. She convinced me she could handle them all and wishes everyone a Happy National Chocolate Chip Day!

Though comparatively mild to the rest of our Great White North neighbours, Vancouver’s West Coast winters are no joke. So, when the sunshine decides to turn up, the city and its inhabitants get that much needed vitamin D boost. Reenergized and revitalized, the boys and I take advantage of outdoor urban life as much as we can. Aimlessly wandering, we naturally started our day at the park. Fresh air and fun times always leaves us a bit famished. We eventually found ourselves down at Granville Island for a little refuelling. Sitting outside on the pier not only allows us to take in the beautiful waterfront views but keeps the little ones occupied just enough for me to squeeze in a few bites myself. If all else fails, they also have each other to keep occupied. Unfortunately for Mase, that doesn’t always work out in his favour!
With kids in the house, it sometimes tends to get messy. Hey, who am I kidding — it is messy most of the time!
Kids need their own space that they are allowed to mess up a bit here and there, but it doesn’t mean that I am always happy about it. My kids have a corner in our living room with their own play table, little chairs, books and toys. Our eldest has a playhouse in his room and most of the time he plays everywhere but there, but that’s okay too, I guess.
The Ikea Stuva benches are the best thing ever! You can stuff so much in them and have an uncluttered feeling when you close the drawer.
Sometimes I wish (who am I kidding, I wish this several times a day) that it was neat and tidy all the time, but that would mean there would be no space for our kids in the house and that is something I cannot imagine anymore.
So I am destined to clean up the mess after their little behinds. I will probably complain about it, but deep down I am happy I can do this. (Do not tell them! Ever!)

It’s Christmas time around here. 6 more days till my house is rolling around in wrapping paper and Santa has left us all some goodies. But before all the crazy sets in we took a little adventure to find the perfect tree for us. We found a gorgeous 4ft NC fur that fits just right in our home. Although as you can see Cash thought the 9ft NC fur would have been a much better choice, haha! He had his own little opinion and helped us pick out the smaller tree. We had a blast as you can see, so maybe this lot every year?! Tradition! Hope you have found the perfect tree for your home and wishing you and your Babiekins a very merry holiday!
xx, Britt Ritchie.
We just love this time of the year! I really can’t get enough of all the beautiful colors and fun things to do during this season. But the leaves are almost off the trees and the temperature is decreasing. We really have to enjoy the last weeks of Autumn since Winter is on its way. We have done so much fun things, like playing in the leaves, painting leaves and nice walks in the woods and parcs.
I’m really going to miss Autumn! How about you?

This week, Aubrey brings us some high-flyin’ aviation inspiration! -Editor
My son Kolton LOVES to dress up. He has received many superhero costume as gifts over the years. He has become superhero-obsessed! So when his Great Grandpop made him this toy model airplane, I though we would try something a little different. I found him this awesome aviator cap and a cool jumpsuit. I paired them with some zip-up boots, aviator sunglasses and an eagle temporary tattoo. He loved it! Plus, I got a break from helping to fight off bad guys. Not bad!
