Craftykins // DIY Whimsical Floral Easter Basket

By Sara Eslami, Contributor Leave a Comment

Easter is right around the corner! Can we just take a moment to think about how fast has this year gone already? It’s craziness. Anyways, I usually take the easy way out when it comes to Easter and just buy a pre-made basket for my daughter, but I thought that it would be fun to make one this year. The best part about this is that it is actually WAY easier than I thought it would be and super fast to make. This took me less than 10 minutes to create.

BABIEKINS MAGAZINE | DIY Whimsical Floral Easter Basket

Here’s what you will need:

Basket
Floral garland in any color
Floral stems or flowers in any color
Fake grass
Pretty eggs
Scissors
Glue gun (optional)

The first thing that I did was put the grass inside the basket. It fit pretty snug so I didn’t have to glue or tie it in. I did have to cut the corners so that it would fit a little better.

Then, I took the floral garland (the white flowers) and wrapped them around the diameter of the basket. I secured it in the back with some hot glue and at various points on the basket. If you don’t have a glue gun, you can always use yarn or string to tie it to the basket.

Lastly, I snipped a few of the yellow stems and glued them to the sides as well as small pieces around the basket. Play around with the flowers and see how you like them, there are so many different colors and variations that you could use but I love the pink basket with the contrasting white and yellow. This is what the final result came out to be and I absolutely love it.

Copyright © 2019 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
