Babiekins Favorite Trends For Kids: Statement Headwear

Knit balaclavas and mask hats were on the catwalks of several fashion designers for fall/winter 2018 and it is no surprise that many children’s wear designers also designed Statement Headwear for kids this fall/winter season. I love Statement Headwear because it is the easiest way for babiekins to keep warm while expressing their personalities even on the coldest of days. Some Statement Headwear is more wearable than others, but I love all Statement Headwear and while I was on the search for a knit balaclava for myself and a mask hat for my babiekin I rounded-up some of my favorite kids Statement Hats to share with you.

Oh Deer, this round-up of deer goodies is simply adorable. The deer is a classic animal that reminds me of watching the movie “Bambi” as a child and falling in love with his big brown eyes, lanky legs, and curious nature. To this day, I still love the beauty of deer and I am certain your babiekins will too. Here are some of my favorite deer goodies for your babiekin this fall season.

Novelty socks are popping up on the feet of fashionistas – who says you can’t wear socks with sandals, or that fun socks are only for wearing at home when you are alone? Not me! Fun and quirky socks are not only popular this fall, but they are a must have for everyone – including your babiekins. Funky socks can let your babiekins express their unique personalities with their favorite animal, super hero, imaginary character or even their favorite food. When your babiekins head back to school make sure they have a pair of fun socks to start their year off on the right foot!

Featurekins // Shop Talk with I Dream Elephants

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Beatrix and Christina chat with us about their online shop and share their favorite Fall styles and trends. I Dream Elephants is based out of London, Germany and Sweden. As mothers, they fell in love with the variety of fashionable clothing options available for little ones and wanted to curate a shop with all of their favorite lines.

What led you to the world of children’s fashion?

After our children were born, we were so impressed by the variety of fantastic children’s wear, that we turned our passion for always finding only the best for our children into our job. “We couldn’t find what we wanted anywhere” might be the motto of many businesses and designers, but NOT ours.

The shop’s name, “I Dream Elephants” is quite whimsical; how did you come up with that name?

We wanted to find a name that appealed to kids and their parents alike. We considered everything that was popular with children and their parents, such as flowers, dinosaurs, animals, etc. We picked elephants in the end, and chose a name which would inspire the imagination and “I Dream Elephants” was born!

How do you select the items that you carry? Are your choices market-driven or based on personal tastes?

Of course we’re guided by our own taste to some extent. We have 4 kids between the two founders und clearly consider, what they and their friends would like. But most importantly we try to meet our clients’ tastes and expectations, which is why we always appreciate their feedback.

Among the brands that you stock, which are your favorites? Which are the most popular?

As Directors of I Dream Elephants, we of course have the luxury to only pick those brands which we personally like. Therefore, we have no favorites, as each has their own strengths. Molo Kids for instance has “grown up” recently; and is particularly popular with our customers who have 6, 8 or 10 year old kids. Nadadelazos, one of our favorite newcomer brands from Spain. Their autumn/winter collection
is inspired by African surma and mursi tribes and full of great colors and hand printed patterns.

What trends are you loving at the moment?

Plaid. It is strong for boyswear this season – a trend we have longed for.

What colors and styles should we keep in mind when shopping for Fall 2014?

Fake fur. We love Bobo Choses’ leopard and two coloured fur jackets which will launch in early September. Or the black fur coat by Little Eleven Paris.

Copyright © 2021 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
