I took Cruz out this week to have ice cream and get out of the house for a bit. Boy, is it different to do photos with a three year old vs smaller. I feel like he’s harder now then he was before. But, nothing ice cream couldn’t fix. We actually went to Vai Headquarters in Temecula (if you are from this area you have to check it out) which has some really fun shops to visit. On Sunday they usually have different family activities, an museum and a little train you can have the littles take a ride on.

Sometimes — especially in California — winter doesn’t mean blizzards or crazy storms. Sometimes, winter means the mercury dips down just a little bit lower than normal, giving us perfect sweater weather.

So last weekend, before heading to the downtown arts district, we pulled out hoodies and cardigans for ourselves, and the perfect warm winter ensemble from NECK & NECK for our own little baby #Cruziekins.

You’ve heard of NECK & NECK, right? They’re an impressive Spanish brand with more than 200 exclusive stores in 15 countries around the world. We love the unique yet timeless design influences and delightful patterns, our kiddos love the super soft fabrics, and we all love the high quality, because we can wear it over and over and over again. Truly classic kidswear for babiekins the world over!

I recently took my boys to our local strawberry fields where we got to pick fresh strawberries. It was so cute to see Christian, Carter and Cruz walking and helping each other find the perfect strawberry. Cruz did more eating then picking and at the end of our trip had left a little strawberry trail on the ground behind him (and on his mouth and outfit ).

Do you go pick local fruit or veggies somewhere? Do you plant your own garden?

Featurekins // Kid & Coe

If you are like me a family vacation can sometimes be more difficult and stressful than relaxing and fun. Everything from finding the perfect place to stay to what little “Susie” will need the three days you are away all adds up and can be very demanding.

Kid & Coe — a new company designed to take the stress out of planning a family trip — has now created an easy-to-navigate and stylish website that is dedicated to helping families find kid-friendly and practical rental homes.

The founder, Zoie Kingsbery Coe traveled the world while managing her husband’s music career, kids-in-hand, and was often disappointed in what hotels had to offer growing families. So, Zoie decided that life would be much easier if families could speed time away in kid-friendly properties that had the comforts of their own home!

I recently stayed in Kid & Coe’s Casperville Residence in Heber City, Utah. This home boasts 5 bedrooms and 3 baths including a nursery, which was a God-send after 13 hours in the car! Plenty of toys, books, fun family DVDs and a beautiful backyard made this home perfect for any family. I felt right at home and it really helped us to unwind after a long ride in the car! The boys loved how each room had a character of its own — the astronaut room, the cowboy-themed room and a more shabby chic room for those of you who have girls.

The beautiful kitchen full of practical items that are needed for those with smaller kids. There were plastic sippy cups, utensils and tableware that we used along with the handy attachable counter highchair! We all enjoyed breakfast in the kitchen while hearing the birds chirp their happy song in the morning.

I loved the little design elements of this home! I am now itching to chalk a corner up in our home somewhere! Maybe the entrance? Christian left a little note “Barros family was here” on the wall for the hosts!

My favorite spot in the house was this music room. Showcasing a beautiful vintage piano and the most awesome gallery wall (and that light!). It was a relaxing spot to sit down, read a book and look out the window and watch the horses across the street run and play in the field.

This room was one of my kids favorites! With an astronaut theme, this was quickly one of the boys “hang out rooms.” Glow in the dark stars on the ceiling, plenty of books to snuggle up with after a warm bath and toys galore made it “home away from home.”

A cowboy themed space was also available in the home. Featuring comfortable bunk beds, a vintage desk for all those little artists and tons of toys!

The beautiful master bedroom.

There was even a nursery which was so welcome after 13 hours in the car! Cruz loved it and I had peace of mind that he was comfortable and he wouldn’t fall out of a bed.

The backyard featured a garden,  playground with a slide, sandbox, trampoline and seesaw! It was great to let the boys run wild and get their wiggles out! We (the adults) might have also had fun on the trampoline! 😉

The horses were seen from the front room nook (with piano) and this red barn was a short walk from the house.

We spent the first night just relaxing with a movie by the fire, and then the next day exploring the city. This home had a beautiful farm in front of it with horses and was nestled in a scenic location between the mountains. It was incredibly beautiful and amazing to see my boys enjoy nature since we don’t have so many beautiful green rolling hills here where we live in California!
I enjoyed the practical side of staying at a residence verses a hotel because we had so much more room to roam in and the house came with many everyday needs for baby Cruz, including sippy cups, plastic baby utensils and plates and an attachable countertop high chair. All these everyday items made life so much easier and it was great that I didn’t have to haul my whole kitchen to the house!
Kid & Coe is an affordable option and amazingly easy to find and book your next vacation.  The Casperville Residence costs from $224.25 per night*, including all fees, and sleeps up to 8 plus a baby. To book, visit www.kidandcoe.com.
*Note that the price here includes fees and cleaning fees so it is more expensive than the rate quoted on the site — I think it’s important to be clear what the whole fee will be in this instance.
Find your next vacation home here.

Carter on Babiekins Blog

I had to take a picture of myself for another magazine that is going to feature Babiekins and as usual my children who rather be playing minecraft wouldn’t stop for a picture with me. I did however get this quick shot of Carter! He’s my little ham!

Baby Cruz and his new friend

I have been wanting to do this shot FOREVER! How cute is little Cruz and his Lucky Boy Sunday doll?

Little hands, feet, toes! It’s so easy to forget how little they are at this stage! I just stare at Cruz when I’m feeding him so I don’t forget all these moments.

Don't grow up little one! Babiekins Magazine

It’s been a crazy 6 weeks since I had my little Cruz and it’s gone by way too fast. His little personality is really starting to show and he has been so much fun to have around. He’s an amazing little addition to our family and also so much fun for mama to dress (mainly because he can’t tell me NO)! Here are some images from my week on instagram! If you aren’t already following me you can do so here.

Introducing the newest Babiekins Magazine member. Little Cruz Stanton Barros!

Introducing the newest member of Babiekins Magazine! Cruz Stanton Barros!

I finally had enough strength to go upstairs and show Cruz his nursery. It’s a fun mix of colors, vintage and modern things I love and of coarse gifts from people that love Cruz as much as we do! We will have more pictures in Print 3 coming out soon!

Introducing the newest member of Babiekins Magazine! Cruz Stanton Barros!

When Cruz isn’t chilling with mama he is usually hanging out in his big brother’s room! Details of this room will be in print 3 also!

As you can imagine it has been pretty busy around my house with the new addition. I am enjoying the little things with this one. Looking at every crease on his skin as he’s feeding, enjoying the smell of his skin and listening to every little

sound he makes. Babies are magical!

Cruz was born September 12 and was a little thing! 6 pounds 4 ounces of love! Check out our instagram for more images

Copyright © 2022 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
