If there is one staple at every children’s party, it’s a hat. There are so many ways to customize them that the possibilities seem endless! These party hats take less than five minutes to make and look way too classy on the kids. Perhaps the adults should wear some, too!?
Supplies:
- black and white cardstock
- scissors
- party hat template (simple one found here)
- gold paint marker
- tape or hot glue gun
Start by printing out your party hat template. Once printed, cut out and trace onto the cardstock.
Cut out the cardstock hat and then use your gold leafing pen or paint marker to draw different patterns and designs on each hat. Go the extra fancy mile by writing some simple words like “hello” and “party” in cursive.
Gently roll into a cone-shape and secure with a few pieces of tape on the inside. Use hot glue for extra durability! Add any embellishments you like such as pom poms for added flair. We all know that flair is important when it comes to hats.
To wear:
Measure 15-17 inch strips of elastic and use the scissors to cut a nice clean edge. Attach to the hat with the hot glue gun making sure to glue the elastic to the insides of the hat.
Let the glue set and you’re done!
Now, put on every hat and proceed to take an obscene amount of pictures!
