Guest post by Live Loud Girl.
In my previous post for Babiekins, I showed you around in our playroom at home.
This time I would love to give you a look into my latest project and give
you some tips & tricks in styling a room- a shared girls’ room in this case.
Now for me a girls room does not mean that you have to use pink! Better yet, I stayed away from it because I wanted to give the space a really fresh look.
Since I work best with a white canvas, I used a skylight white paint for the
walls and gave the floor a similar color. This really enhanced the natural
light that comes into the room.
To keep this fairly narrow space as light as possible, I used airy
furniture. The high beds, the playhouse and the acrylic bookshelves all are
perfect for a room like this. In these cases it is better to try and stay
away from heavy head boards, bulky items and wooly rugs.
But hey, it is a kids room and it should be a fun place for sharing endless
giggles, bedtime stories and lovely long nights. The fun started with the adding of the wall stickers. They are such an easy way to give a room something extra. In this case, we chose to play some vertical twister by adding large colored dots.
Some more color comes down from the ceiling with the gorgeous paper lamps
and with the storage baskets. All linen was kept quite clean, with just some
pops of color in cushions.
In this room it is summer 365 days a year. Fruity and fresh with a hint of
Zoo. Such a fun project, such a happy space.
