Featurekins // Corby Tindersticks SS15

By Debbie Jovel, Contributor 3 Comments

For SS15 Corby Tindersticks is inspired by the bold works of Pilipo Giordano, Vincent Pianina and Kashink, plus more high brow things such as silly pets, bouncy balls with faces and gelato; it’s advised that you get your sun spectacles ready for punchy primary brights and popping pastels.

‘Stay Gold’ is full of surprises for SS15 but the biggest treat of all is the launch of the exclusive ‘Peter Pocosticks’ croc print mini-shoe designed in collaboration with shoemaker BFF’s (Best Footwear Friends) Poco Nido. Created for all the snappy little dressers out there – the mini shoe is perfect for learning how to moonwalk.

Other new products include ice cream and animal themed height charts, a very handy vegetable identifier, huggable soft toys, an interactive caterpillar reward chart, prints and pendant banners to inspire creativity in the home and beyond.

This ethically made collection of baby and children’s clothing, toys and home accessories is designed and (mostly) made in the UK with love and care. For all the underdogs, jigsaw champions and fuzzy felt addicts – this one is for you. Stay Gold.

Featurekins // Bacabuche

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Bacabuche is a new children’s wear brand that offers comfortable and modern pieces for littles up to 24 months of age. This brand is all about simplicity. Neutral color stories, raw edges and natural materials combine to create a cohesive and minimalistic collection. The line features slouchy drawstring pants, hoodies, slub scarves, tanks and even tiny turbans. The textiles used are organic, natural or bamboo and all of the items are made in the United States.

Isn’t this the perfect wardrobe for sunrise or sunset strolls with the littles on the beach? Let’s hold on to those last days of summer…

FASHION :: Introducing the Wittlebee Kids Clothing Club

We have quite a few mini field-testers here at Babiekins Magazine, and sometimes we put them to work! Here Aveline, our Copy Editor’s daughter, tries out some clothes from Wittlebee Kids Clothing Club. I think she’s enjoying her job, don’t you?

Wittlebee works on a simple subscription model. You pay $40 per month, and Wittlebee sends you a box of clothes which have been hand-picked for you according to the style profile you provide. As someone who — yes, I admit it — can be a little bit picky about clothes, the personalized style profile is the part I really like.

Aveline’s box came packed with six different pieces of clothing (not all shown.) On our little outing today, she wore a pretty long-sleeve corduroy top by Tea Collection, bright leggings also from Tea Collection, and the most incredibly awesome graphic tee from Lately, Lily. (I can’t get enough of this top. Lily releases a new line of clothing every time she stops in a different part of the world — this one is from her travels to South America. An international perspective is really important to me, and I want to raise Aveline with this worldview, too.)

If you didn’t already guess, the retail value of the clothes you get in your Wittlebee box is far greater than the $40 subscription fee. (Plus, you’ll be able to buy additional clothes at a discounted rate, as well — there are always lot of flash sales and giveaways happening on Wittlebee’s Facebook page.)

What have been your experiences with clothing subscriptions? Will you be giving Wittlebee a try?

xo, Gina (& Aveline)

Wittlebee provided Babiekins Magazine with a sample box of clothes for this review.

UPDATE: We are so sorry some of you have had less than a satisfactory encounter with Wittlebee. Our review, while 100% honest and our opinion, was based on a single box Wittlebee sent to us, and the interaction we had with customer service during that time. Unlike many of you, we have not had experience with Wittlebee’s subscription service over an extended period of time. We are truly sorry for your experience, and appreciate your honest feedback!

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
