A Trend I love for this Spring Season is Print-Mixing. I am seeing Print-Mixing being utilized as patchwork or by mixing prints together, like florals and classic shirting stripes, in unexpected and refreshing ways. This is a round-up of my favorite Spring Trends utilizing Print-Mixing for babiekins: scrunchies; flared dress; a paper doll; classic button-down; long skirt; romantic blouse; hoodie; belt bag and oversize collars. These Print-Mixed fashions are a little bohemian, a little refined, and full of youthful fun.

Floridian Fall: A Kid’s Fashion Editorial Featuring Fall & Winter Styles

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

I dream of dressing my kids (and myself) in comfy knits and luxurious velvets, but in South Florida, we don’t get to enjoy fall and winter fashions until about February. Even, then, the cooler weather lasts for about a week. In this fashion story, I wanted to explore the contrasts between the tropical climate in South Florida and some of the popular clothing styles available for the cooler months.

I am super excited to share my favorite dress trend with you – the Sweatshirt Dress! This versatile dress can be dressed up or down and provides the perfect amount of warmth and coziness for the Fall Season. The Sweatshirt Dress is feminine combined with comfort, and I love that! I also love all iterations of the Sweatshirt Dress: allover printed; logo; ruffled; embroidered; graphics and hooded. Your babiekins can wear a Sweatshirt Dress alone or styled with colored tights, leggings or skinny jeans and a Sweatshirt Dress looks very cool worn with a pair of sock sneakers or chunky sneakers. I think you’ll love this comfy dress so much you will be wanting a Sweatshirt Dress for yourself as well!

Simple but sophisticated, navy is the secret of “la Parisienne”. And the secret of little Parisiennes too.

Pantone, the global authority on color, introduced the Color of the Year 2015 as Marsala (Pantone 18-1438). Although Marsala is somewhat of a controversial color choice for some — liking a color is a personal and subjective experience — I really like Marsala because it is equally as stylish on a girl or boy. Pantone describes the color as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.” My opinion is that Marsala is a grounding, warm red-brown color that looks good on everything from apparel, to accessories, to shoes, and even for home decor. It is a seasonless color that can be worn as a grounded statement color on its own in the fall and winter, and as a strong accent to other lighter and brighter colors in the spring and summer. I think both me and my son need something Marsala in our wardrobes for 2015, so we can radiate with confidence — obviously.

Copyright © 2021 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
