Something about warmer weather just brings out the inner hippie in me. I love the way flowy tops, wide legged jeans and giant round sunglasses just convey that easy, breezy summertime feeling. I believe that bell bottoms are universally flattering and these super flares in white denim is undeniably fresh and just right for summer! This boxy blouse is one of my favorite pieces currently with its retro cut collar and relaxed fit. Of course, the only shoes that seemed right for this outfit were my trusty vintage inspired clogs and to polish it all off, some giant round sunglasses. 1970s boho mama!

As I’m sure you already know, music fests are officially in full swing! Though we’d love to attend one, that probably wont happen anytime soon, but we can pretend right? I’m always drawn to the bohemian, free bird, hippie styles inspired by music festivals! All the florals, fringe, sundresses, floppy hats, flower crowns, and gladiator sandals have me craving to travel and take part! If you haven’t already noticed, festival styles have taken on their own category in fashion. Even celebrities like Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Solange Knowles are rocking the look! Clearly, you don’t have to actually go to a music fest to get in on the fun styles! It was fun dressing Nyah up like we were on our way to Coachella. We even got some dancing in!

There is something so wondrous about a jumper. Easy to throw on and look put together, means more time for important things, not standing in my closet thinking “what do I wear?”. My favorite jumper is from Flynn Skye, and it can take me from daytime at the park, to nighttime date with my baby daddy in a flash. Bell Bottom Hem and drawstring waist, mean easy breezy comfort with a very flattering fit. The perfect staple for Spring and Summer…so jump to it and hop on the one-piece bandwagon!
“As a child, one has that magical capacity to move among the many eras of the earth; to see the land as an animal does; to experience the sky from the perspective of a flower or a bee; to feel the earth quiver and breathe beneath us; to know a hundred different smells of mud and listen unself- consciously to the soughing of the trees.”–Valerie Andrews, A Passion for this Earth

Valentine’s Day is all about romance. To me, there’s something so romantic about vintage bohemian dresses, heavy knit robes and layers of chunky jewelry. I found this beautiful bohemian dress in a vintage shop in California. It drapes over the body perfectly. It’s modest but shows the right amount of curves. The white knit robe from forever21 is universal. I can wear that beauty anywhere and any time. It’s the perfect accent to any outfit I own. The chunky layering of necklaces and bracelets are a mix of old and new. I just love doing that. It’s eclectic like my life and spontaneous like my love.
It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of free spirited bohemian fashion, but having been born and raised in Miami, urban fashion is just a part of who I am. In our family, sneakers are kind of a big deal. My husband scours ebay for rare Jordans and other throwbacks and I am a fan of any high top metallic shoe. I came across these gold Supras and knew that they would look amazing with the gorgeous boho dress by Feather Drum. In order to successfully mix the two styles, I kept a consistent color palette. You can never go wrong mixing gold, black and gray.

I may or may not be totally salivating as I write this blog post or every time I see District Cookie pop up on my instagram feed! Can you blame me? Who is District Cookie? Well, we couldn’t say it better than owner Rula herself. “District Cookie has soul – mixed in with core, organic ingredients like history, passion, labor and love. This cool cookie lab creates connections of global fusion flavors that reinvent classic cookie cravings.”
Rula’s cookies are made of organic ingredients, non-gmo, have low glycemic sugar, made from unbleached flour, have no transfats, created with local dairy products and made with loads of love!
We asked Rula to bake up a couple batches of her wonderful cookies for my baby shower and they were gone as soon as they were put out. With flavors like brown butter chocolate sea salt and orange spice double chocolate I couldn’t blame my guests. It was a beautiful event that was even sweeter because of Rula and her delicious cookies.
I am off to go order a batch of my favorite flavor for myself and am already thinking of which flavors I will gift my family on Christmas! If you would like to order cookies yourself please visit District Cookies or if you have any questions you can contact Rula at email@example.com
