Hi Babiekins readers! I have a feeling that you have noticed we are slowly introducing you to our new Babiekins Magazine blog contributors. We are so excited to have these lovely ladies on board and hope you enjoy getting to know them just as much as we have. Today I want to introduce you to Kaitlyn, an active mom with an eye for fashion. You can also find her over on her blog, Fringe of the Cro, where she proves that you don’t have to sacrifice your wardrobe for your little one. She has found the perfect balance between kids and fashion.

We asked her a few questions and here is what she told us.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Kaitlyn & I live in a very small town in Texas with my family. I have an awesome & encouraging husband & one beautiful little boy, Revel. I’ve worked with blogging, retail, interior design, but mostly, I’m just a 23 year old mom. I spend most days chasing him around while doing those normal mom things… Being inspired by those not so normal mom things. I love fashion & styling, cooking & eating, laughing & growing everyday. You can join me here: Fringe of the Cro // @kaitlyntru

What does 9pm look like in your house?
Me and my husband in bed, relaxing with some wine. He works very long days so we value all our time together.

What’s always inside your purse?
Cork screw. Kidding! Just the normal things like phone & wallet… Some EOS.

If you had a group of friends over for dinner, what would you prepare?
Salmon with a béarnaise over some spinach quinoa with an acorn squash wedge. It’s my favorite.

Pick two celebrities to be your parents?
I actually get asked about relation to Brooke Shields a lot. But I think I’d go for someone I could see raise me the same as my mother… Lauren Hutton is pretty timeless. Diane Keaton would be interesting, too!

If you could be invincible for a day what would you do?
If that applies to just taking risks in general, I’d finally open a boutique. It’s my dream.

What’s something you don’t leave the house without?
Besides my child, I guess my phone. Maybe some coffee :/

Favorite designers at this moment:
For children, I literally can’t get enough of Bobo Choses & Mini Rodini. I’m so original (eye roll.) I also really love Soft Gallery, Bang Bang Copenhagen, Quinn & Fox & really need to get my hands on some more!

kaitlyn

Thanks Kaitlyn! We are so excited to welcome our new team of bloggers and hope you are just as thrilled.

MOMKINS // Meet Isabel

isabel

Greetings Babiekins readers! Today we want to introduce you to Isabel, a talented young mama who happens to be another new contributor to Babiekins Magazine blog. On most days you will find her over on Instagram sharing her lovely photos or on her personal blog talking about family and fashion. We asked Isabel a few questions and this is what she has to say.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself.
Hello. Although I love to write, I find it a bit strange to write about myself here. But, hey, let’s do this!!!
I am Isabel, a 29 year old mama from Belgium. I have a little boy named Jules (almost 3) and a babygirl named Jeanne (5 months old). I’ve been married for 3 years now to Walter. These three mean the world to me. I love being their mama and wife, but from time to time I need to get out of the house and meet my friends, who are pretty important to me too. They keep me sane and I love them for that. In 2012 I started to write a blog. I love to write, but find it quite challenging to write in English, which isn’t my mother tongue. I have a passion for fashion and love to shop, especially for the little ones. You will find out more about my little family soon!

Who is your style icon?
I am inspired by a lot of people, but someone who can’t do any wrong in my book is Kate Moss. Cliché, I know.

What song and/or band best describes you.
The Kills! For sure! Especially their songs ‘Future starts slow’ ( if i ever give you up my heart will surely fail) and ‘DNA’.

What does 9am typically look like in your house?
On the weekends 9 am means cuddle time in bed. The kids wake up around 8 and then we are all in bed together until 9 (or even 10 when we are having a lazy day) this is my favourite time of the weekend! Talking to each other and seeing how much love can fit in one bed.

Name something that is always in your handbag or purse.
Cookies (healthy ones, of course) or candy. My worst nightmare: starving to death!

Quick, you get 20 minutes to yourself, what do you do.
20 minutes. Not long enough to take a bath or shower so I’d probably check instagram/whatsapp or shop online!

Who are your favorite designers at the moment?
My favorite brands must be Acne, A.P.C, Cos and Isabel Marant. Their designs are simple yet timeless. Unfortunately, my wallet doesn’t always allow me to shop these brands.
For my kids I like TUSS, Nununu, Popupshop, Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses, Quinn + fox, Petit Bo …. and of course the Belgian Brands Morley and Gold Belgium.

Thank you Isabel for sharing! We look forward to reading your posts.

We’re excited to introduce Jenny Smith to our Babiekins readers. She is passionate about children’s fashion, her family and her online store Moon Fries. You can find more of Jenny over on Instagram (@Superbuds) and here on Babiekins Magazine Blog! Jenny is one of our newest contributors and we look forward to learning more about her and where her inspiration grows. We asked Jenny a few questions, and here’s what she had to say:

Share a bit about yourself.
Hi, I’m Jenny Smith, or better known as Superbuds on Instagram. I’m the proud mom to the silliest little man, my son Carter who is 20 months old and the source of a lot of my inspiration in creating Moon Fries, a contemporary children’s clothing line. I live in beautiful British Columbia with my husband Steve, who is also the other bud of Superbuds, and our drooly pup Doug. Together we are one happy little family!

What song, band or musician best describes you?
Rihanna’s Umbrella. Protective and supportive. I’ll always be a shoulder to lean on, rain or shine.

If you had a group of friends over for dinner, what would you prepare?
Calamari with a Greek salad and some type of dessert. There must always be dessert.

Describe your style in one word?
Aritzia.

What’s something you don’t leave the house without?
iPhone.

Name one kids essential item that is a must.
Hands down, a slouchy beanie.

Favorite designers at this moment.
Beau LOves, Bobo Choses, Mini & Maximus, Superga, and of course, Moon Fries.

When you’re not busy being a mom, what are you doing?
You could find me locked up in my craft room sewing or trying out my latest DIY finds from Pinterest.

MOMKINS // Meet Kimbah

Meet Kimbah, mother, photographer, fashion lover and Babiekins Magazine newest blog contributor! We are thrilled to have her creative eye and unique style on board and look forward to reading her posts. You may know her as @KIMBAHANNE on Instagram and if you’re not following her beautiful feed you should head on over and check her out. We asked Kimbah a few questions and here is what she has to say:

Tell us a little about yourself.
I have never been good at writing about myself, I have always found comfort in writing but more so about my two little heart throbs, Bodie (5) and Indy (2), memories and milestones I would like to savour in written word and of course our struggles with Autism. But if I was to give you a quick brief of myself I guess I would start off with my name, that being Kimbah, I reside down under in Sydney, Australia with who I like to think of my perfect yet dysfunctional family of four, let’s be real. I am one who truly enjoys the small things in life, but have a deep desire for children’s fashion and interior, I take comfort in photography and tall soy lattes.

What song, band or musician best describes you?
I would like to think Diva by Beyonce, but if I am to be real, I would say Brand New, bits and pieces from each and every one of their songs, complex and dysfunctional but with sense and real meaning behind all the madness.

What does 9:00am look like in your house?
9.00 am? you mean 12:00 pm? in our household it seems to feel like midday come 9.00 am and I am ready for a nap. My son is an early riser, 5-5.30 am each and every morning and if we are not gathering our belongings for speech or occupational therapy, the kids are most probably sitting on top of the dining table watching (annoying) dad draw up clients tattoos for the day while I get either a workout in or enjoying a solo latte run.

What’s always inside your purse?
Hand sanitizer! Yep, a bit of clean freak.

Describe your style in one word?
I don’t think I am able to describe it in one word, I seem to change from season to season. This summer I went through a sport luxe stage whereas winter 2013 I did a bit of 90’s grunge, yet last night I just ordered myself an amazing pair of daisy print trousers which fit more into the 80’s hip hop street category. I guess I just like to explore and have fun with fashion.

If you could be a superhero, what power would you possess?</em>
The power to cure Autism.

What’s something you don’t leave the house without?
Just the necessities really, I would like to drag my camera everywhere I went, but I find it difficult enough with a bag full of what seems like our fridge combined kids bedrooms and or wardrobes.

Favorite designers at this moment?
At this moment it is definitely Normann Copenhagen, most days I can sit at peace with my morning coffee and get lost in the gallery online, thinking about my next purchase. I do and will always have a love for Lucky Boy Sunday and Ferm Living as for children clothing designers; Mini and Maximus, Minti, Beau LOves, Mini Rodini and NUNUNU.

kimbah

Thanks Kimbah for sharing.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
