Fashionkins // Carbon Soldiers

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Guest post by Beth Morris.

Since they were newborns, my children’s staple wardrobe items have been the amazing homegrown New Zealand brand, Carbon Soldier. It is run and owned by some of my family and it has a style all of its own. Its edgy and uber cool. A lot of the pieces can be used in a unisex way that suits a mom with pair like me. Im a lover of black on my kids, especially my long blond locked girl and she has no hesitations wearing their stunning dresses and skirts. It is clothing that you’ll want for yourselves. The quality is also top notch and you can mix and match each season with a streamlined theme.

Momkins // Thanksgiving Threads

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving day is tomorrow! For us, it’s a special day to be with family and give thanks for all the blessings we have. We love doing it in style. I’m a huge fan of black and it so happens, I found this lovely set that looks just perfect for this occasion. It makes me feel sexy and elegant at the same time, plus it’s so soft! As for my boy, I always like him best in clothes that are comfortable, but on a day like this, I love for him to be all dressed up, too. I wanted to find something that looked the part and was comfy at the same time. Everything he’s wearing is from baby Zara, and I love it! it’s also so soft to the touch and I think he looks so handsome.

We all know that black is the most flattering color to wear because it simply just slims and always adds a level of chicness to your look. Wearing black while pregnant is of course always a good idea, especially for those days when you are feeling huge! I am 30 weeks pregnant now and this is my favorite little dress! It has a lot of good things going for it; it is fitted but still has a casual sweatpants feel, it has ruching at the hips and butt, and it is drop waist so it shows off the bump in that ‘oh, i just threw this on’ kind of way. I decided to take the all black up another notch by adding my favorite fitted over the knee boots and a black felt hat. I love the way the outfit came together and I will be wearing this one all the time through the fall.

Partykins // Black, Gold and Silver

By Isabel Leave a Comment

My little Jeanne turned one this past week. The last year went by so quick, too quick. I felt really emotional the week before her actual birthday. In order to hold back the tears and stop myself from constantly looking back at her newborn pictures, I started making paper tassel garlands and thinking about what to serve the guests.I kept it all pretty simple. Black, gold and silver garlands and some huge balloons. I bought some small stickers and decorated old baby food pots. I found numerous tutorials on how make the garland. Although I am not the most patient crafter, I found one that was doable. Black and white polka dotted cups and striped paper straws added just the right touch. For a little whimsy, I used small napkins with cute pink flamingos.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
