Meet Kimbah, mother, photographer, fashion lover and Babiekins Magazine newest blog contributor! We are thrilled to have her creative eye and unique style on board and look forward to reading her posts. You may know her as @KIMBAHANNE on Instagram and if you’re not following her beautiful feed you should head on over and check her out. We asked Kimbah a few questions and here is what she has to say:

Tell us a little about yourself.
I have never been good at writing about myself, I have always found comfort in writing but more so about my two little heart throbs, Bodie (5) and Indy (2), memories and milestones I would like to savour in written word and of course our struggles with Autism. But if I was to give you a quick brief of myself I guess I would start off with my name, that being Kimbah, I reside down under in Sydney, Australia with who I like to think of my perfect yet dysfunctional family of four, let’s be real. I am one who truly enjoys the small things in life, but have a deep desire for children’s fashion and interior, I take comfort in photography and tall soy lattes.

What song, band or musician best describes you?
I would like to think Diva by Beyonce, but if I am to be real, I would say Brand New, bits and pieces from each and every one of their songs, complex and dysfunctional but with sense and real meaning behind all the madness.

What does 9:00am look like in your house?
9.00 am? you mean 12:00 pm? in our household it seems to feel like midday come 9.00 am and I am ready for a nap. My son is an early riser, 5-5.30 am each and every morning and if we are not gathering our belongings for speech or occupational therapy, the kids are most probably sitting on top of the dining table watching (annoying) dad draw up clients tattoos for the day while I get either a workout in or enjoying a solo latte run.

What’s always inside your purse?
Hand sanitizer! Yep, a bit of clean freak.

Describe your style in one word?
I don’t think I am able to describe it in one word, I seem to change from season to season. This summer I went through a sport luxe stage whereas winter 2013 I did a bit of 90’s grunge, yet last night I just ordered myself an amazing pair of daisy print trousers which fit more into the 80’s hip hop street category. I guess I just like to explore and have fun with fashion.

If you could be a superhero, what power would you possess?</em>
The power to cure Autism.

What’s something you don’t leave the house without?
Just the necessities really, I would like to drag my camera everywhere I went, but I find it difficult enough with a bag full of what seems like our fridge combined kids bedrooms and or wardrobes.

Favorite designers at this moment?
At this moment it is definitely Normann Copenhagen, most days I can sit at peace with my morning coffee and get lost in the gallery online, thinking about my next purchase. I do and will always have a love for Lucky Boy Sunday and Ferm Living as for children clothing designers; Mini and Maximus, Minti, Beau LOves, Mini Rodini and NUNUNU.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
