Fashionkins // Don’t Ditch the Dress

By Elizabeth Pettey, Digital Photo Editor Leave a Comment

As we’re jumping into the Autumn/Winter season in the fashion world, I can’t help notice that although those snuggly sweatshirts feel divine … it’s still 500 degrees outside! Hold off that Spring/Summer wardrobe purge and get a few more wears (and hopefully not too many more tears) out of your Babiekin’s favorite dress. I love these sweet, feminine, cheerful ones from Anjo Kids. Throw pair of cute shorts under if there’s monkey bars in the daily forecast and don’t forget a pair of fabulous, bold shoes! Candy optional.

Have you ever heard of a clothing line that makes it impossible for you to get upset with your children? Temper tantrum in the grocery store, no big deal. Picking of the nose at the nicest restaurant in town, whatever. Talking back, I could care less. Yes, that’s right, a clothing line that makes it impossible for you to get upset with your children. Not only do you not want to get upset, you may even want to shower them with kisses if they partake in any of the behaviors previously listed.

Anjo Kids, based in Portugal, carries that sweetest dresses I have ever seen. Each made by hand (and you can tell, because the details are perfect) from fabrics found throughout Europe. The line evokes a feeling of tradition, a longing to spend the entire day with your family. In a world where our children, our 4 year old and 3 year olds, are pushed to wear sparkly skinny jeans and disney screen printed tees everyday, Anjo Kids reminds us of the sweet innocence within our children. When Poppy slipped on this sweet dress, I was taken back. All of a sudden she was my little girl again. Instantly, she seemed so small. Is it possible for a dress to do this? I think so. It happened today. The moment she opened the box, placed the little flower crown on her head and slipped into this perfect little dress- she was once again a little girl. And for the rest of the day, despite what she did, I showered her with kisses.

Dear Anjo Kids, thank you for reminding me to slow down and shower this little girl with kisses.

Find your perfect little dress on the Anjo Kids website. Be sure to take a check out the lookbook on their site. I could use about 4 more of their designs in Poppy’s closet this summer. Look them up on Instagram too.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
