This Spring Season I am loving everything nylon; jogging pants and hooded jackets in nylon are my current obsession. Maybe I love this trend because I like the 80’s retro-vibe and the fact that they remind me of hanging out at the mall and riding my banana seat bicycle to the park. Or maybe it’s because windbreakers are light, waterproof and cool. Whatever the reason is, I am ready for spring to come and can’t wait for the weather to warm up so me and my babiekin can sport cool windbreakers. Here is a round-up of my favorite windbreakers that are color-blocked in bright bold colors and metallics.

As we anxiously await the release of the eleventh print issue of Babiekins Magazine, here is a look at one of the editorials you will find inside the issue. This story has a minimalist vibe and was shot in the early morning hours in the Miami Design District. Featuring two tweens, the looks are sophisticated but soft.

This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, which signals the start of the Summer Season and I am thinking of sunshine, barbecues, friends & family and Splish Splashing in the water with my babiekin. A few weeks ago I shared a round-up of bright colored swimwear; today I am sharing another trend I am loving this Summer in swimwear: Primary Colors; Stripes & Dots; and Sporty. I love the Sporty Trend because it is both functional and fashionable and looks cute on boys & girls alike – I really love that!

Stay Sporty this Summer & Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend with your babiekins!

The influence of athletic-inspired pieces continues into spring, and a sport I am spotting in children’s wear is tennis. Adidas Stan Smiths started the athletic street wear trend, and now tennis inspired fashions are everywhere with other favorite references, like tennis dresses, polo shirts, tennis skirts, tennis socks and tennis inspired prints and graphics. The tennis look, with its classic iconography and crisp miniskirts is match point on my score card.

2016 is wrapping up, but there are some trends that are here to stay (for me, anyway!). Slip dresses over tees, graphic tees, pastels, and shimmery fabrics will have this fashion editor’s heart forever.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
