Mother’s Day Picks

By Abby Kail, Contributor Leave a Comment

Is it true that we become our Mothers?  We nurture, sacrifice and occasionally raise our voices.  So many days things do not go as we planned.  Chaos ensues and the effects of such ripple down to even the littlest among them.  We repeat our expectations time and time again (and if you read my previous blog this is not a bad thing).  By the end of the day we are exhausted, hungry and mentally worn out having put in a full day of “well-raising” (aka work).  We have quite literally poured our whole selves into our children.  Yet, it doesn’t seem to break us.  Don’t get me wrong,  it’s hard it’s very hard.  We do feel defeated time and time again BUT we rise.  In the hardship, we rise.  Amidst the beautiful chaos, we rise.  We rise just like those who came before us.  Yes, some call it messy.  I call it Motherhood.

About Abby Kail, Contributor

Abby Kail is a loved wife to one fine gentleman, and momma to eight spirited littles. She has been documenting this beautiful chaos by way of film for the past ten years, doing this thing called motherhood by the grace of God -- nothing more difficult and nothing more rewarding. There are days where she has lollipops in her hair and children sitting fully clothed in the bathtub. Yet, her children don’t see her faults they just see her “taking care of them” and it works. You can find her in the kitchen, or on Instagram @homemaker_haven.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
