Believer or not, down here in the South… you dress up for Easter.
I can still vividly remember being nine years old and watching my mother smock pearls onto the chest of a light pink, lace-adorned dress she’d hand-sewn. White patent leather Mary Janes stared at me smugly, having been revived from their post-Labor Day hibernation. Although conveniently –and not coincidentally—in the middle of my fantastic tom boy stage, I knew that on this occasion, you shut up and put on the panty hose and size-of-Texas hairbow for the grand fashion show itself, Easter Sunday.
Bless.
Cheers to the Southern babiekins. To you, little ones, who worked your classic yet quirky Easter Sunday attire this morning. May you continue to dazzle your fellow Sunday Schoolers all Spring!
HAPPY EASTER!
