With three boys, our house is filled with all kinds of creepy crawly toys like snakes and bugs.
And while they usually scare me when I accidentally come across one in the laundry or on the kitchen counter, after a little makeover of gold spray paint and hearts, they’re less creepy and way more cute.
You’ll need:
plastic bugs {usually available in the party favor section of the store}
gold spray paint
pink/red craft paint and fine tipped brush
small magnets
strong glue {like E600}
Start by spray painting and even coat of gold on all sides of the plastic bugs.
When they’ve completely dried, use a fine tipped brush to paint a tiny heart on each.
If you work quickly enough, any hearts that don’t turn out just right can be wiped off with a baby wipe or damp paper towel and painted again.
When the hearts have dried completely, glue magnets {or push pins if you’d like these on a cork board instead!} to the backs of the bugs.
