Building your kid’s wardrobe is as important as our own when one asks a mother. Just like adults, there will always be the must have lines. I wanted to hit on those items for our children and how I like to play them down. When I splurge for Wang, I down it with some Topshop… When Revel goes Bobo, we down it with total complimenting pieces that can pair differently a thousand times.

I always find a super strong foundation. The statement. From there I build on colors/moods. This Chateau Bobo Choses top has intense blacks & the smallest hint of blue. Pull out hidden gems by adding a pop-ful accessory companion. These Marc Jacobs head phones draw your eye straight to the blue, while our Mason & The Tambourine shorts and Ruum Boots pull down the dark. The last addition is the Lot801 scarf, great for breaking up your color schemes or just adding a minimal token.

Featurekins // Mason & The Tambourine Desert Cactus Shorts

The kid brand that’s not mentioned nearly enough, Mason & the Tambourine provides quality and consistency in every piece. I specifically adore this season’s cactus print. I’m rarely sentimental, so I appreciate that the least cuddly plant of all brings those emotions to surface. A cactus is me to a t, hence my cactus ink in the same neighborhood as my ring finger. Ryan and I had a massive cactus when it was just the two of us. When we lived in the most minimal of lofts and had no idea how bright our world would soon become. Soon after we found out I was pregnant with this little dude, our cactus of two arms grew the third. These shorts epitomize my babe. Bravo M&TT. Need to turn your summer pieces into the AW seasons? Layer up under denim vests and bandanas and mostly, get all the use out of your shorts by throwing on long socks!

Funkins // Summer Staple: Ice Cream Trucks

The songs of an ice-cream truck that you can hear miles away; you’re already picturing those bright packages. Revel screams, “What’s That?!” to basically every noise and especially this one. We ventured down the block to find our man with hidden sweets & find him we did! The brightest sweet was Revel’s pick, too. Strawberry shortcake pop, both sweet to taste & wear. I can still remember my first truck experience & hope he does, too. Documented and all… Here is one of our favorite summer staples & we’re even thinking of throwing together a cardboard truck. Perfect for a summer party theme.

Copyright © 2019 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
