All is Calm

By Abby Kail, Contributor Leave a Comment

“Do not let the endless succession of small things crowd great ideals out of sight and out of mind.” @simplycharlottemason

It’s the New Year.  New resolutions, changes and ABSOLUTELY a NEW YOU!  Yikes!  When will we all just sit back and enjoy the gift of time (below she is giving the “gift of time”)?  The new year has gifted all of us more time.  I get it new year and new goals but LET IT BE.  The last several years have taught us time is fleeting, a gift not able to be bought.   Time is quite literally how we spend it.  Yes,  it is the New Year, all is calm.  No more holiday bustle, gifts and parties.  No more hype and hoopla.  2022 is going to gather precious memories and make history just like every other year passed.  Shouldn’t we be present and purposeful?  My soul is calm (and in these photos so are my children ha).   It is ready to take on the year that’s about to be thrown into our laps.   I want to hold it gently for time is fleeing and I will not get these moments back.  My children are growing at a rate that feels like a real life in person glitch.   Counting my blessings, being purposeful and calming my soul with moments of precious time.

About Abby Kail, Contributor

Abby Kail is a loved wife to one fine gentleman, and momma to eight spirited littles. She has been documenting this beautiful chaos by way of film for the past ten years, doing this thing called motherhood by the grace of God -- nothing more difficult and nothing more rewarding. There are days where she has lollipops in her hair and children sitting fully clothed in the bathtub. Yet, her children don’t see her faults they just see her “taking care of them” and it works. You can find her in the kitchen, or on Instagram @homemaker_haven.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
