Fashionkins // Modern Holiday Style

By Julie Martin, Contributor Leave a Comment

Holidays parties are in full swing and shopping for the kids doesn’t have to be a chore! Pick a color theme and pair pieces accordingly, or keep it clean and simple with a crisp winter white! Add a touch of sparkle with a gold skirt or accessories! You can freshen up the current wardrobe by styling with some fun socks and lacey flats or maybe invest in one stand-out piece, like a furry capelet, that can be worn until Spring! A little sparkle can go a long way and so can creativity!

Featurekins//Botanical Adventures

Bright whites are combined with modern and classic silhouettes in this fashion story set in Madrid, Spain. We are totally digging the contrasts between the fresh whites and textural botanicals.

Momkins // An Ode to the White Shirt

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor Leave a Comment

Guest post by Anna Whitworth.

Its crispiness and simplicity never cease to deliver, be it a work meeting, project presentation, dinner with the in-laws or Saturday’s brunch with the girlfriends, a white shirt will always make you look good. I love them, I cannot stop buying them and I own quite a few of them. They are first runner-up to the white t-shirts as far as quantity goes. At first, I was not always such a fan, I remember the days back in elementary school when we had to wear a white button-up to every school ceremony, a sea of student-penguins is what we were. I think that is when my rebellious (or defiant as I like to call it) soul started resenting the white stiffness of the perceived uniform.
But now as I matured a bit, being in the prime of my youth (hey it is all in one’s head, says my 69 year old father- thriving 21 at heart) I perceive them as an A plus answer to every dressing-up test question one may have for me! Need something for a Friday night cocktails–white shirt and leather (if you are poor like me pleather) pants and heals are a perfect combo (additional bonus if they have ultraviolet lights in da house, I tested and nothing draws more smiles and fist bumps than half of you glowing in the dark). Need something for a quick lunch with your girlfriends on a Sunday afternoon? White button-up and a pair of boyfriend jeans will do! I promise that you will look like you got this, effortlessly and with this surprising, duh-kind of wow-factor. So lets uniform unite, white button-ups we go!

Craftykins // 4th of July Sparkler Drinking Straws

By Lexi Leave a Comment

What’s more fun than drinking from a normal stripey straw? Drinking from a stripey straw that’s been decked out for the holidays, that’s what. Give your sips and snacks a little pizzazz by adding some sparkle to create these 4th of July Sparkler Drinking Straws.

Supplies:

  • red & blue striped straws
  • silver tinsel
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors

Craftykins // 4th of July Sparkler Drinking Straws

Start by cutting a small piece of tinsel. Cut carefully as this stuff can shed tinsel strands easily.

Place a small dollop of hot glue onto the straw about 1/3 down from the top.

Before the hot glue dries, wrap the small strip of tinsel around the straw and press the ends down into the glue.

Wait for the glue to dry (it’s quick!), and admire. That’s it!

Stick the straws in some cute bottled soda, or snip them down and place them in cupcakes. Whatever you use them for, they’ll definitely make anything Independence Day-ready!

They’re so cute, I may just have to hoard them all for myself. Now go and get your glue guns, folks. Happy Independence Day!

Momkins // White, Grey and Blue

By Katleen Leave a Comment

Oh how I love white! Not only for my wardrobe, but also in my house… all my walls are white, and if I could choose all by myself, I would have all my furniture, floors and home accessories in white too! About the clothes… when dressing for summer, adding a white piece can never go wrong.  It always gives your look a clean and crisp touch. Mixing white, grey and blue radiates a nice, fresh feel. The organic leggings from Diapers & Milk are perfect for achieving the look I was thinking about for my babe. You know I like some twinning with my kiddos, so I added a little mama-fashion too…

Craftykins // 4th of July Sprinkle Fireworks

By Lexi Leave a Comment

It’s hard to believe, but the 4th of July is right around the corner. With that, comes all the fun projects and parties! These 4th of July Sprinkle Fireworks are the perfect addition to a summer soiree for the kids OR the adults! They’re flame-less so they’re safe for all ages and they make the ice cream eating easy! (Not that it wasn’t easy already.)

They’re made by simply decorating empty push pop cups with colorfully patterned paper and double-stick tape! Once they’re wrapped, fill them with sprinkles and you’re set!

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
