As a child, I remember sitting and watching morning cartoons — you know, the classic ones with the infamous cat and mouse — and out of the corner of my eye, my grandma would sit and knit away. I remember being captivated by the colorful wool peeking out of the project bag she took everywhere.

Today, of course, we rarely think of grandma when we think of knitting. Knitting has enjoyed a style revival, and everyone from young hipsters to fashionable moms to primary school children are picking up a set of needles. From the runway to the home, knit goods are everywhere.

At Babiekins, we love the revived art of knitting, especially as it combines with the surge in artisan goods and DIY. We can’t get enough of being able to make our own blankets, sweaters, and accessories. instead of relying on someone elses’s style preferences.

We especially love the company ‘we are knitters‘ — they sell beautiful knitting, crochet and petit point kits. Kits include a pair of knitting needles, enough skeins for the entire project, the pattern, a WAK label and a tapestry needle to finish your project.

Our top Babiekins picks are the Martina Cardigan kit, THIS mini Catori Kimono (I mean!!!) kit and the Cub Scarf is darling. These would make GREAT gifts for the special crafter in your life — or yes, for you, if you want to get your craft on. Treat yo’self!

Not feeling confident in your skills? There is no better time than now to learn. They even have snazzy learn how to knit videos HERE to help you learn the basics. What are you waiting for?

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
