Homekins // Buffalo Plaid & Holiday Decor

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor 1 Comment

We love the way Stephanie Hanna incorporated our one of our favorite winter staples, buffalo plaid, into her home’s Christmas decor. Below she gives us a little insight and tour…

Decorating for the holidays is one of my favorite things to do. Bringing in a real tree and fresh greenery makes the entire house smell like a winter wonderland. The kids love it and get so excited to hang their stockings and decorate the tree. The colors I used this year are red, black, cream and gold. My inspiration was my tassel garland from GenWoo Craft. Her tassel garlands are like no other. She really nailed this festive color way. I loved adding the black ornaments and candles this year. It’s unexpected and dramatic. Red buffalo plaid made a debut in our Christmas decor offering that traditional holiday flair that everyone loves.

The stockings and pom pom wreath were my DIY projects this season. I bought plain stockings from Michaels and embellished them with pom poms, tassels and gold letters. The stocking holders were a fun Target dollar section find. For the wreath I bought a real wreath, wrapped it in lights, added red pom poms from Michaels and finished it off with a Merry Christmas banner. My home is definitely where my heart is and I hope you can find a little inspiration in it for yourself this holiday season.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
