Travelkins // Exploring Oahu

By Emily Rubio, Former Junior Editor, Kids' Style Leave a Comment

Living in such a small area as the island of Oahu in Hawaii (it’s just under 600 square miles!) you would think one would eventually run out of things to do. No matter how many times we circle around the island, though, there is just always something new to discover. Living here I’ve truly seen that the potential for exploring is tremendous, whether its a discovering new waterfalls, a hidden beach or a wandering trail — or even something more commercial, like hanging out at Disney’s Aulani. I find that there is always some sort of family-friendly activity happening, or a fun place to discover. And did I mention how fun it is to dress for the endless summer? I couldn’t help including some of my island getaway faves for littles in this post. With warm weather all year round, the sun and salty air of Oahu make it a great place to escape — it truly is the endless summer!

Fashionkins // Lounging Threads

By Zacha Carpenter, Contributor Leave a Comment

As a stay at home mom, the majority of our time is spent at home. I am not much of a homebody, but between cleaning, cooking and keeping up with the house, I am forced to spend time indoors. Because Kaylee has not started school yet, she has been my sidekick at home for the past 4 years. It’s always nice to have threads to wear when lounging that still make you feel somewhat fashionable in your daily life. I am constantly in search of clothes that are both comfortable and practical for being at home (since that’s where we spend the majority of our time). I specifically look for two things when shopping for her clothes- the fit, and the fabric. It must be soft and movable. This is one of my daughters favorite jumpsuits because of how soft the velvet feels on her skin. My favorite part of these types of pieces is how well they transition from comfortable to fashionable, with just a few simple accessories!

Fashionkins // Prints and Denim

By Katleen Leave a Comment

During summer holidays, Lilou and her cousin Marcel, play together all day, every day.  Like true best friends, or should I say…partners in crime, they even want to wear the same clothes! They both adore printed leggings. These ones of Diapers & Milk have the cutest and brightest prints and they are so soft and comfortable! Paired with a denim shirt, they are ready for another fun day!

This third instalment of “From Carter’s Closet” is brought to you by Mini Mioche, with a dash of Beau LOves (tank) and Moon Fries (slouchy beanie).  If you haven’t heard of Mini Mioche yet, read all about them here. Below are just some of the reasons why I quickly fell in love with this brand.

mini mioche core values:

  • Clothing that is ethically and locally made (designed and manufactured in Toronto, Canada) in a way that is not harmful to the environment or our little ones.
  • Clothing that looks great but also stands the test of time in terms of both style and quality.
  • Clothing that kids love to wear because it is so soft and comfy.

The star of his outfit has got to be the pants! This denim is the softest that you will ever feel. I seldom put Carter in anything but stretchy and comfortable leggings, but I have no problem keeping this Mini Mioche denim on him all day long.  The feel, cut and overall style is just perfection. These super soft, super stretchy jeans are perfect for kids aged 3 months to 6 years and come in 8 different colours.

From Carter’s Closet:

Slouch Beanie // Moon Fries

Stripped Tank // Beau Loves

Grandpa Cardi // Mini Mioche

Denim in “Slate” // Mini Mioche

Salt Water Sandals “Surfer” // Mini Mioche

Copyright © 2022 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
