My favorite baby trend (now and forever) are baby bonnets. I cannot think of a sweeter baby shower gift than a Spring Bonnet. Bonnets on babies are simply adorable. There are so many pretty ones to choose from: knitted; Liberty prints; crochet; indigo; delicate lace and even with bunny ears. These bonnets are perfect for Spring and simply lovely!

Fashionkins // Magical evenings

By Justine Ilarda, Former Contributor Leave a Comment

We are transitioning from winter to spring here in Australia. The weather is quite perfect actually. With this amazing weather brings even better sunsets. We are so blessed to live in this sun blessed country. I hope you can capture from my pictures the beauty and adventures that this transition brings.

Fashionkins // Ready for Fall

By Justine Ilarda, Former Contributor Leave a Comment

We live in Australia so spring has just started for us. I absolutely love the flowers blooming and summer scents, but I just cannot go past the beautiful fall hues flowing from all my favourite children stores on the other side of the world from me. I have quickly become accustomed to buying my girl’s winter clothes six months in advance, but this month we have planned a trip to America right as my favourite season is commencing. So I do not have to wait! Olivia can wear all my favourite coats and warm hats in my favourite hues, in my favourite season right now. Happy Fall!

Fashionkins // Sisters Make the Greatest of Friends

By Justine Ilarda, Former Contributor 1 Comment

Since I can remember I have always wanted two girls, so I feel extra blessed that I have two happy healthy little girls. They are truly best friends and adore each other. They giggle, they play and they love each other hard.

A beautiful added bonus of having two girls is being able to dress them in cute coordinating outfits which I fully take advantage of because let’s face it, in a few years they won’t allow me too! So for now it is matching head-scarves, dresses, cardigans and sweet matching Mary Janes.

Storykins// Julia, Child

By Leslie Schor, Senior Fashion Editor 2 Comments

I was browsing our local Anthropologie a couple of weeks ago and spotted the most adorable children’s book. The whimsical illustrations immediately caught my eye. Then, I saw the title and knew I had to get it. Julia, Child. Perfect. I knew my daughter would love it as her daddy is a chef and she is so interested in food and in the art of cooking. Written by Kyo Maclear and illustrated by Julie Morstad, the book is seriously sweet and engaging. We were inspired to bake some organic muffins (boxed of course because Mommy is definitely not the chef!). And…obviously had to dress my girl and her friend up and ask my friend to shoot a cute little photo story.

The inspirations provided by reading are endless!

In the author’s own words, “You are cordially invited to this tale for all ages about a child named Julia. While the story contains no true knowledge of the (real) Julia Child and should be taken with a grain of salt and perhaps even a generous pat of butter, we hope that you will find something here to savor. If you discover, as we have, that some stories taste best when shared with others, then all the better. Bon appétit.”

Copyright © 2019 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
