Taking inspiration from some of the grey days you might be experiencing as well, my little man is fitted from chin to Chelsea boot in grey! A clean monochromatic outfit with his button down and grey denims. I’ve added a pop of colour with a beanie in Pantone’s colour of the year, Marsala, to keep everything fresh and fun. Finished with his black Chelsea boots, Carter’s ready to follow his beloved bunny friends out and down the rabbit hole!

FUNKINS // The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same

By Jenny Smith, Contributor Leave a Comment

A lot of people told me while I was pregnant with Carter that my life was never going to be the same. For the most part that’s true. I couldn’t imagine my life not knowing what my little man’s face looked like and I certainly couldn’t imagine that I’d love someone so much, whose poop I had to clean up. But as Carter’s getting older I realized not everything had to change.

Before Carter was born my sister, Sheila, and I would partake in these gluttonous day-long food tours. We’d explore different neighbourhoods in Vancouver  and other cities to see the best their food scene had to offer. It was always delicious and always a lot of fun. Now that Carter is a bit older and has a lot more energy to burn we’ve gone back to our ways. Not only can things stay the same, but in my opinion getting to involve my little guy makes the experience all the better.

This past weekend we revisited one of our favourite places in Vancouver, Bella Gelateria for their hot chocolate and gelato. Being praised as the best in the world (two time winner of the Florence Gelato Festival in Italy) it certainly won Carter over.

Copyright © 2022 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
