Father’s Day is only two weeks away so I thought it would be nice to share a round-up of gifts for Dad to thank him for all that he does. Let’s face it, Dads are Cool and I believe that they deserve original gifts that are thoughtfully designed and ethically manufactured. This Father’s Day I personally love the idea of giving Dad a gift that says: let’s take a family road trip and enjoy the great outdoors and slow living! Dads are busy with work, life and their babiekins, so toss a football with your Dad in nature and explore the mountains, deserts and plains together!

Happy Father’s Day to all Dadkins!

Featurekins // Artifact UprisingFeaturekins // Artifact UprisingFeaturekins // Artifact Uprising

As Hallmark and pretty much every other advertiser is wont to remind us, Father’s Day is around the corner. That usually means commercials depicting happy 2 parent families with 2.5 kids, a dog and white picket fence gathering around a table and toasting dad, grandpa and all the patriarchal figures amongst us. But for many of us, this isn’t what life looks like. Granted, some brands are getting better at more accurately representing what family means these days and even folks themselves are getting in on the action of celebrating and sharing their non-traditional stories. Take, for example, the recent video that went viral this past Mother’s Day where a grown man recorded a message for his birth mother to thank her for giving him life.
Here at Babiekins, we wanted to celebrate family in all forms and the love that is manifested however said family may be constructed. To do this, we’re sharing stories on the blog of non-conventional Father’s Days celebrating all of those who stand in for the role. And we’ve teamed up with our friends over at Artifact Uprising to help create gifts that capture this incredible love.
If you don’t know what Artifact Uprising is, allow me to introduce this incredible company to you. Based in Colorado, they provide Instagram worthy photo quality in real life. The products they offer are seemingly endless; think Hardcover books, softcover books, wedding albums, every day print sets) and can be coupled with design savvy photo holders crafted from eco-conscious materials. We’re currently crushing on the Wood Block + Print Sets and because we think you’ll like it to, Artifact Uprising is offering our community a discount. Use code (insert code here) to receive (enter percentage here) off of your order.
And be sure to share the love back with us! We’d love to see what you made and hear your stories of how Father’s Day has touched your lives. #ArtifactUprisingFathersDay #BabiekinsFathersDay

Underwater World Collection
Deep-water creatures, ocean dippers and sea-bed life are all featured in Tom & Teddy’s striking Underwater World collection, a range of Classic-style elasticated-waist swim shorts in matching pairs for men and boys.
Each pattern of Dolphins, Jelly Fish, Turtles and Coral reflect the soothing sights of ocean life, with illustrations that curve and intertwine to convey the natural movement of water beneath the waves.
Opulent shades of navy, emerald and turquoise are offset by warmer rose, burnt orange and hot lime tones to mirror the wonderful colours of the water, the sea bed and the sunlight as it illuminates the world beneath the surface of the sea.

Australian Outback
The distinctive shades of sunrise and sunset, the hot baked earth and the brilliant blue skies above remote landscapes have all inspired Tom & Teddy’s Australian Outback Collection. This rich and abundant colour palette has been carefully applied to modern, iconic shapes that depict the “land down-under” in a playful yet sophisticated way.
This Contemporary style collection features two defined and modern prints of Kangaroos and Skin in a number of contrasting colourway combinations, such as a bold violet kangaroo icon set against a soft mint and a punchy coral background shade overlaid with a gentle blue animal skin pattern.

What you need:
Construction
Tissue paper
Twine
Pen, cutter, glue, white out
Washi Tape, including the disc
Option for the disk if you cannot find it just use some construction paper
Goodies

What to do:
*Step 1*: To start have all your supplies ready.
*Step 2*: Cut out of your construction paper a rectangle 5 1/4″x 4″. Start to decorate it with your washi tapes. Add your disk at the center. If you do not have washi tape disk, no worries, cut a circle out of some construction paper and glue it. Then, make a fan-shape, cut and roll it to create a cone; you can glue it together now.
*Step 3*: turn your rectangle on the other side and glue your tissue paper, as it is show on the picture.
*Step 4:* Now you can roll your rectangle and glue it together. Glue your cone to your rectangle.
*Step 5*: add some surprises to your rocket pocket, and with your twine close it.
*Step 6*: Add a message or your dad name with the help of your white-out.

THAT IS IT!
Happy Father’s Day. Hope you enjoy the day.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
