I think that every mother who has a daughter must go through a stage where she dreams of decorating a dollhouse for her little one, right? Well, that’s definitely the case with me at least. I love decorating my own home but decorating a miniature home is 1000 times more fun. It can also get pretty pricey, especially when it comes to modern dollhouse furniture. I have chosen to make most of my furniture and this is one of the easiest I have done so far!

To make your mid-century hairpin leg coffee table, you will need:

1. A birch tag (found at most craft stores in the wood section)
2. Jumbo paper clips
3. Wood glue
4. Pliers
5. Screwdriver & one screw the same width as the paper clip
6. Marker
7. Wire cutters and a hammer

1. Mark where your legs will go with your marker and then screw a nail into each hole to create an opening to insert the table legs.

2. Open up the paper clips and cut them at the mark shown.

3. Bend the legs inward with the pliers so that the base is more narrow.

4. Open the legs again, and insert them into the holes you created with some wood glue. Tap them in with a hammer to secure.

I love how this turned out. Let’s just hope my two-year-old can appreciate it just as much!

Funkins // Dollhouse Magic

By Priscila Barros, Editor-in-Chief 5 Comments

This magical dollhouse made of found items reminds me of when I was in kindergarten and the teacher made a cubby hole into a magical leprechaun house. I remember staring at the little cubby hole hoping that the leprechaun would jump out so I could catch his pot of gold.  I love how being little ones have those little moments when there is absolutely no worries and everything is still so magical! Dollhouses make great gifts for kids

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
