This past Friday was the first day of fall; the season of chunky sweaters, cozy layers, and pumpkin-spiced everything has officially begun. Fall is my favorite season because I love the crispness in the air, the beautiful colors of changing foliage and cuddling on the couch with a blanket and my babiekin. On a chilly evening or weekend day my son and I love to make freshly popped popcorn and watch a movie together. There are a few movies my son can watch over and over and over again; here is a round-up of some of me and my babiekins favorite movies to watch on a chilly fall day – what is your babiekins favorite movie?

Fashionkins //Quirky Disney Inspired Costumes

By Carina de Luca, Former Contributor Leave a Comment

This year, we gave Lola the Disney classics DVD box collection and she´s quite obsessed with it. So when I started to plan what she was going to be for halloween, I knew it had to be something related to her favourite movies. I always try to look at what I´ve got at home and start to work from there, adding few touches to their actual outfits and turning them into a costumes. You don´t really need much more than that. Just let your creativity flow a bit and you´ll have a fun and unique costume!

For Bambi, any brown outfit will work. I added a few spots using woollen paper and the main thing is the makeup. You can find lots of inspiration on Pinterest. For Thumper, I used a grey jumpsuit, off white leg warmers, a faux fur cape to add some fluffiness and I hand sewn the ears that I´ve bought on the dollar store to his little bonnet.

For Pinocchio, the main thing is to get a pair of red pants and suspenders. I made this giant blue bow, added the yellow buttons and put a little red feather in her bonnet. For Jimini Cricket you don´t need much more than some green pants and a top hat. I did it using a plastic party hat as a base and covered it with blue woollen paper and added the yellowish bow. Voilá, there you have four Disney inspired halloween costumes. Very simple and equally adorable!

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
