Have you heard of bucketfeet? Founded in 2011, this amazing sneaker company is on a mission to connect people through art and collaborate with incredible artists to create unique, awesome footwear. They recently launched their children’s line and it’s insanely adorable! With artists all over the world creating designs for buketfeet, I chose a NYC and Cali artist for Lucas and I – the best of both coasts! I have a feeling we will both be rocking our sneakers all of Spring and Summer.

Fashionkins // Mumma’s Hat Thief

By Donna Tweedale, Former Contributor Leave a Comment

Since this one started school in the fall, I’ve been making the most of choosing his outfits for the weekends. I love seeing how he’s starting to inject his personality into how he wears his clothes; they bring out his playful side.

This Christmas holiday I just couldn’t get enough of him in this outfit. Plaid and denim the perfect weekend combination. Rocking his Mumma’s hat that he’s become partial to poaching from time to time; when he wears it as he does, who am I to argue!

Flora and Henri is the ultimate in classic, timeless children’s wear. From their knits to their beautiful outerwear, Lucas has been sporting Flora and Henri since he was in infant – his first piece a beautiful silver winter jacket. One of my favorite Fall/Winter outfits, this combo is the perfect amount of classic and play. Also, they hit the nail right on the fashion head with their Madrid pants (Pantone’s color of the year – Marsala!). See the entire collection here for both boys and girls.

I have been a long time fan of Vince for women. Now this coveted brand has created a kids line – hurrah! Mini versions of the classic, timeless staples that we all have grown to love. Each piece is designed to be cool and effortless and are the perfect edition to your child’s wardrobe. Can I have this sweatsuit in my size please?

Is there anything sweeter than plaid on kids? Add a tiger print into the mix and the combination equates to some serious fashion goodness. Lucas’ pants and denim shirt are from Agatha Cub. Their new Bodega Series just hit the shop and it is GOOD! Don’t say I didn’t warn you! I’m currently coveting the entire collection for Lucas. His tiger popupshop sweater is from Milk Bots. It reminds me of of the sophistication of Givenchy yet is still whimsical and playful.

Fashionkins // Building the Kid’s Wardrobe with DJ Style

Building your kid’s wardrobe is as important as our own when one asks a mother. Just like adults, there will always be the must have lines. I wanted to hit on those items for our children and how I like to play them down. When I splurge for Wang, I down it with some Topshop… When Revel goes Bobo, we down it with total complimenting pieces that can pair differently a thousand times.

I always find a super strong foundation. The statement. From there I build on colors/moods. This Chateau Bobo Choses top has intense blacks & the smallest hint of blue. Pull out hidden gems by adding a pop-ful accessory companion. These Marc Jacobs head phones draw your eye straight to the blue, while our Mason & The Tambourine shorts and Ruum Boots pull down the dark. The last addition is the Lot801 scarf, great for breaking up your color schemes or just adding a minimal token.

Featurekins // Mason & The Tambourine Desert Cactus Shorts

The kid brand that’s not mentioned nearly enough, Mason & the Tambourine provides quality and consistency in every piece. I specifically adore this season’s cactus print. I’m rarely sentimental, so I appreciate that the least cuddly plant of all brings those emotions to surface. A cactus is me to a t, hence my cactus ink in the same neighborhood as my ring finger. Ryan and I had a massive cactus when it was just the two of us. When we lived in the most minimal of lofts and had no idea how bright our world would soon become. Soon after we found out I was pregnant with this little dude, our cactus of two arms grew the third. These shorts epitomize my babe. Bravo M&TT. Need to turn your summer pieces into the AW seasons? Layer up under denim vests and bandanas and mostly, get all the use out of your shorts by throwing on long socks!

Cool weather is soon to knock & we’re all gitty for the fall line debuts. Inch into season changes by pairing your summer staples with one-piece fall items, like here with our Zara trousers. More options we’ve been eyeing include a Knox and Lola long sleeve paired with shorts, tall socks, and sneakers. Literally easing into new seasons help the wardrobe shock here.

Copyright © 2019 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
