There is nothing more awe inspiring than the great beyond. My children love to stare up at the stars and gaze though a telescope or binoculars at night. My 3 year old cried when he discovered that he couldn’t use his telescope to look at the Milky Way during the day. To celebrate this month’s super-moon, the largest in almost 70 years, I thought I’d throw together this selection of celestial-inspired goodies.

A while back we moved into a little old cottage. Creaky wooden floorboards, cracks in the paint, poky little bedrooms…it has it all. It was love at first sight and although I have big plans for each and every space in this home, for now we have been nesting and making due with what we have. The result in Piper’s space has been a lovely, dreamy and vintage bedroom with all the fixings for a fairytale childhood.

Piper is nearly five and will happily go into her bedroom for hours and play with her mixed collection of toys or draw at her vintage school desk. She loves curling up on her antique kilim rug to read stories (all made up from memories of what we have read before,) and play dress ups with her endless collection of masks and wings and lovely things.

The walls have a few layers of paint. One is white and purple and the other three a suede army green. The longer I am here the more I love the vintage green, for now.

Lil’Stylekins // Spring Is In the Air

By Isabel Leave a Comment

Oh how we love spring! Last week we embraced every bit of sunlight and enjoyed playing in our garden.
Playing outside means we have to change the way we dress and I prefer onesies and sweatpants for my little Jules. They are easy to put on/off and to run and roll around in.

Black onesie and romper are from Filemonkid. They are easy to wear, which is perfect.

Sweater from Filemonkid and Bobo Choses raindrop sweatpants.

Striped baggy leggins from Stylish kid in motion and Bobo choses T-shirt.

All we want now is the sun to come back again! Please.

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
