When Fashion Meets Friendship

By Ginger Torrado, Contributor Leave a Comment

Fashion connected us, but friendship will keep us together.  We had a blast meeting Lilly, and her Content Director  Vianey Salazar, in Florida last month. Lilly and Gianna hit it off instantly.  A love for fashion, a love for play and a love for people.  Here are some of our favorite looks this season.

Babiekins Fall Fashion Trends: Velvet

Velvet is soft, plush and warm and is my favorite fabric for staying cozy this fall season. The velvet trend started last fall, continued into the early spring and has returned this fall in many of my favorite collections for babiekins. I have my eyes on a velvet jacket for myself and for my babiekin I love velvet sweatshirts, dresses, culottes, sneakers, home decor and accessories. Because velvet is so soft and cozy and looks lush in rich autumnal colors I think it will also become your babiekins favorite fabric for fall.

This 4th of July I am taking my babiekin to a beach and we are counting down the days until we have fun in the sun. However you celebrate this 4th of July – whether it’s at a beach, at a parade, picnic, family reunion, seeing fireworks, or, all of the above; wearing stars is my favorite 4th of July trend and I believe the perfect compliment to your Independence Day festivities because the best way to celebrate the 4th is to match the American flag. Stars look perfectly patriotic on statement sunglasses, shirts, tees, denim (I especially love stars on denim skirts for girls), shoes, swimsuits and swim trunks. Now, go grab a beach bag and enjoy your upcoming 4th of July!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and I am thinking hearts, love, red, chocolates, hugs and kisses! I am especially thinking hearts and heart-prints because I am loving them on everything from a heart shaped hat, or puzzle, to the rather adorable heart-prints on dresses, tops and skirts! In addition to heart-prints, I am also in love with statement graphic t-shirts that simply state: “Heartbreaker”. Here is a heartbreakingly cute round-up of some sweet Valentine’s ideas for your babiekins with hearts, heart-prints and graphics. Happy Valentines Day XOXO!

I can hardly believe we are in the first week of 2017 and another year is already behind us – as is another Pantone color. Pantone announced the “it” color for 2017, and the “it” color is Greenery, a zesty yellow-green shade. Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings, making it, in my opinion, the perfect color choice for babiekins. Green is my nature boy’s favorite color, so I will definitely be introducing Greenery into my son’s wardrobe and decor this year.

What do you think of nature’s neutral shade of Green? Will you dress your babiekins in Greenery in 2017?

Luvkins // Marsala

Pantone, the global authority on color, introduced the Color of the Year 2015 as Marsala (Pantone 18-1438). Although Marsala is somewhat of a controversial color choice for some — liking a color is a personal and subjective experience — I really like Marsala because it is equally as stylish on a girl or boy. Pantone describes the color as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.” My opinion is that Marsala is a grounding, warm red-brown color that looks good on everything from apparel, to accessories, to shoes, and even for home decor. It is a seasonless color that can be worn as a grounded statement color on its own in the fall and winter, and as a strong accent to other lighter and brighter colors in the spring and summer. I think both me and my son need something Marsala in our wardrobes for 2015, so we can radiate with confidence — obviously.

Luvkins // Holiday Decor

Babiekins Magazine | Luvkins // Holiday DecorCredits // 01. Stockings Garland | 02. Winter Wonderland | 03. Angels Ornaments | 04. Reindeer Head | 05. Advent Calendar

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” and I’m beginning to get ready for the Holidays. Our family begins our holiday season with the tradition of chopping down our Christmas Tree the day after Thanksgiving – yes, I would rather spend Black Friday in the woods than in the mall and do my holiday shopping on Cyber Monday. After bringing our tree home, our family spends the entire weekend decorating our home. This year I am looking forward to decorating my son’s bedroom, after all, he is the most excited person in our family for the holidays to arrive. I love the idea of having special holiday decorations for him, and this year I will be adding some ornaments, a garland, and an advent calendar to his room which is one of the many reasons I am especially loving this round up of special holiday goodies for little ones.

Copyright © 2019 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
