Sleepykins // Restoration

By Priscila Barros, Editor-in-Chief Leave a Comment

The new Restoration Hardware Baby & Child Catalog just came out and I gotta say it’s looking like they’ve really stepped up their game. I remember when Restoration was just a little store in Eureka, California (where I was going to college) that carried furniture and a small section of longboards and wetsuits. This always struck me as cool since I had never seen it before. The north coast has some pretty serious waves and the owner obviously rode them. I never thought that this little victorian house-turned-store would go on to sell me my first serious leather couch, linen curtains and show up in almost every town. I actually look forward to getting their holiday catalog and browsing all of the vintage gifts that they carry and how they categorize them in groups like “Clever Camper,” “Enlightened Executive,” “Capable Craftsman” and so on. But this selection of kids and baby’s furnishings were quite impressive and caught my by surprise. Have they offered all of this for long? Do their stores carry all of this? I don’t know, but I do know this teepee is one of the best I have seen. I bought our daughter a teepee a while back and there was literally no selection. There was obviously a need, and Restoration filled it. And filled it well. They call theirs a tent and it is made from recycled canvas. The other piece that caught my eye was this cool, vintage mail room looking toys basket. Take a look at the whole lineup here, and see how ready they are for the holidays.

Check out pfleegerdad, for more of my stay at home dad jibber jabber!

Copyright © 2022 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
