Three years ago, we started a new tradition in our home. On the eve of our children’s birthday we sneak into their room and decorate. Each year is little different, but it usually ends up being filled with balloons and streamers. Sometimes beach balls, a giant blow up dinosaur and once a room with walls covered in tissue paper flowers.
To continue with our new tradition we start off the day with a morning celebration. The table is already set and the birthday king or queen has a decorated chair and placemat loaded with goodies and presents. They can choose any breakfast they want, and this year it happened to be “Hulk” green crepes stuffed with fresh berries, yogurt and a drizzle of honey.
Not a bad start to the day!
Do you have any birthday traditions? We would love to hear them. Stay tuned for another Partykins post featuring Josh’s celebration and some tips on how to plan a birthday party for your little one.

Such a Lovely Tradition, it reminds of a scene from ‘A Little Princess’ When Sera and Becky wake up surrounded by all those luxuries they dreamed up the night before!
