Anyway, here’s a little animation of my last baby and three of my favourites for baby (toddler) feeding:

1. Bibetta floral bib
Intensely washable and has withstood almost daily use for the past 2 years.  The material feels like it’s made from a wetsuit with a nice 70s wallpaper-ish print.  Best bib I’ve ever bought.  We also have the matching changing mat.

2. Bloom Fresco loft highchair
Most expensive piece of baby kit we’ve ever bought (from a lovely Irishman @ Boohoobaby.co.uk),  but has saved my bad back.  It starts as a fully-reclined elevated baby seat at birth (REALLY saved my back–no awkward bending), morphs into a space-age highchair, then eventually into a child’s chair for up to 8 year olds.  It has an amazing 360 swivel, can go up and down like a salon chair, and cleans up well.  It was my Christmas, Mother’s Day, and Birthday presents all wrapped up in one, but it’s worth the price.

3. porridge
Not to be underestimated, porridge is and has always been the best toddler breakfast in our house especially for the two Scottish-born kids.  In the past decade, we’ve consumed a LOT of oats.  My personal favourite is peanut butter-banana porridge with golden syrup.  It never goes out of style.

(an honorable mention goes to Plum and Ella’s kitchen for making baby food pouches that a baby/toddler can hold and eat unassisted.  Still Olive’s favourite and an amazing way for her to get extra fruit and vegetable servings)

I always loved show and tell at school, and this little blog feature today, is my show and tell in the adult world.
I would like to show you the work of Simone Downey of Honeycup and tell you that she is a brillant illustrator who like me, is a Melbourne girl.   She also has her own blog which is one to add to your bookmarks.

Her images are wintery and quirky which i love and I often use in my unisex room designs as they are gender friendly.
The problem is, i try to design unique rooms for every client but Simone continually releases such wonderful prints that i want to use them in every child’s room.  I hope you can see why?

Rather than recreate the characters’ garments for a literal Get the Look, I decided to instead draw inspiration from the artwork and bring you a selection of clothing which matches the colors and hues found throughout the book. I have an amazing giveaway from the beautiful Optimist of Norway.  Made from 70% bamboo and 30% cotton, these clothes are so soft and in lovely muted colours.  Even before I felt their clothes, I was totally won over by the unimpressed Scandinavian children in their photos.  Their website has recently been updated with more colours and styles…and even more cute photos!
I was so happy to include their clothes in an editorial I shot for the February issue, and I now have two full size 122 (size 7) outfits to giveaway–one girl’s grey dress with apron and  a grandad shirt with shorts & braces.

I wanted to show you this pretty new Swedish kid’s shoe brand, Mina Shoes. The designer, Linda Gullberg, worked for many years as a designer for some of the world’s leading footwear brands. She wanted to make kid’s shoes that were both of high quality and something both kid’s and their parents would love to wear, so Mina was born. Mina Shoes makes the prettiest ballerinas (as you can see) but also do a really cute unisex Wellington. Our favorites are the black and white Cat Ballerina and the dusty pink Cassie Ballerina.
