Babiekins Magazine

A Trendsetting Magazine & Online Community For The Trendsetting Child + Parent

Featurekins // Model Spotlight: Cassidy Eveler

By Elizabeth Pettey, Digital Photo Editor Leave a Comment

It’s Friday afternoon at the Starbucks on Spring Street in Soho and ten year old Cassidy giggles beside me, tall hot chocolate in hand, as I wrangle her awesomely-tangled hair into two trendy “inside out” french braids. Her positive and endearing personality warm up the room and she’s bursting with energy; you’d never know she’s been working around the clock all week on a SS15 campaign uptown. Although she’s only been signed for thirteen months, by the end of the shoot, it’s obvious why Cassidy has booked a dozen top campaigns (Ralph Lauren, Calvin Clein, H&M… to name a few). It takes a special kid to model Summer clothing in the snow; Cassidy does it with a smile.

So one day did you just say, “Mom I want to model!” and the rest is history?

Well, we sent in pictures and in ten minutes an agent called back. This has been my dream since I was like four! (Mom, Jess, harps in, “There was an infomercial on the radio and I thought ‘We’re not doing that’. She kept going back to it, talking about it, so we went to Nashville and they told us to go to New York. I thought, ‘WHAT THE HECK. Why not!’. It was crazy. Like she said, an agent called me within 10 minutes.)

What was your favorite job of 2014?

The most fun project I did in 2014 was H&M because the photographer, Frank Malthiery, was very funny. He’s French! He said “Bonjour mademoiselle!”

Aside from modeling, what are some of your other interests?

Sing, act. I acted in an android commercial. My dream job is to be on Disney Channel. I played football and I was the fastest girl on the team… well, I was the only girl on the team. I love animals! I think I like Bryant Park best in NYC because it’s so peaceful; the taxis here honk for no reason!

What’s the hardest part of being a model?

Waking up so early to get on the plane! (Cassidy is from a small town outside of Memphis, Tennessee. For most flights, her normal wakeup call is around 3am!)

Copyright © 2023 · Babiekins Magazine | A Trendsetting Kids' Fashion Magazine and Online Community for Parents and Children Alike · Since the Southern California birth of Babiekins in 2010, the magazine has grown from into an internationally-recognized print publication with a global circulation and now a thriving online community. We are more than a kids’ fashion magazine. We search everywhere for inspiration, and go beyond trends to bring you fashion, style, decor, design, books, DIY, parties, and playthings. Our readers look to us to keep up with the best and most up-to-date concepts in the children’s market worldwide. We have an eye for quirk. We’re high-fashion, but we value whimsy over tradition. Playful childhood is more important to us than making kids into copycat adults. We believe life is beautiful, life is valuable, and life changes when you see it through the eyes of a child. We seek to transcend skin color, language and zip codes and bring out the real, wild, magical creativity inherent in every child. And behind Babiekins is an optimistic team of mothers-turned-editors, working from home, often with our own little babiekins climbing on, under and around the desks. We want to encourage you, and challenge you to see something different — something special — in yourself and in this world we all share. Welcome to Babiekins!
