It’s officially Spring! Bring on the sun, flowers, bright colours and…pinwheels!!
Here’s a quick and easy tutorial on how to make this cheery spring backdrop.
1. Score board / 2. Double sided tape / 3. 1 inch hole punch / 4. 8.5×11 sized cardstock / 5. Hot glue gun
I chose these bold bright solid colours, but you can choose any set of colours or pattern you like.
Take your paper and make 1″ creases with your score board. Do this along the 11″ side and you will end up with 10 creases.
Cut each piece of paper in half along the 8.5″ side. You will have 2 pieces measuring 4.25″ x 11″. You will need a total of 4 pieces to make 1 pinwheel.
Tape together the 4 pieces at one end to make 1 long piece of accordion paper.
Once you have your long piece of accordion paper, pinch it into a circle and secure these ends with tape. Carefully grab the hot glue gun and put a generous amount of glue in the middle and secure it down with a 1″ paper circle, colour of your choice. I chose white. You’ll have to hold your finger over the little circle, over the glue for a minute or so to let the glue harden.
Ta-da! All done. Remember, you can use any type of paper and make them into any size you like. I attached these to the wall using masking tape.
Place Babiekins in front of your lovely new spring backdrop and snap away!
