The Christmas ornaments may be packed away until next year, but my littles are such animal lovers that we decorate for the birds in our yard all winter long.
To make these feeders, you’ll need:
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup water
1 packet unflavored gelatin
3 tablespoons corn syrup
4 cups birdseed
non-stick cooking spray
ribbon, twine, or yarn
Combine flour, water, gelatin, and corn syrup in a large bowl. After well mixed, add in birdseed. Stir until completely coated.
Spray cookie cutters with non-stick spray and lay atop a lined cookie sheet. Fill each with seed mixture.
Allow feeders to harden for about an hour, then carefully create a hole in each with the skewer.
After the feeders have dried for at least 24 hours, pop them out of their molds and thread ribbon or twine through each hole for hanging. Decorate trees in your yard or a park and watch the birds enjoy!
