It’s October already; not only is it Autumn, but Halloween is just around the corner – yes that’s the spooky corner with the cobwebs in it. Halloween is my favorite Holiday because I love all of its’ festive activities that include trick-or-treating (or the related “guising”), dressing up in costumes, decorating, carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns, eating sweets, apple bobbing, visiting a haunted house, telling scary stories, and watching horror films (the spookier, the funner). Another thing I love about Halloween is the fashions. Besides getting dressed up in costume for Halloween night, I love the fashion trends of Sweatshirts, Masks, Dip Dye, Fringe, Glow-in-the-Dark, Graphic T-Shirts, and Animal Ears that can be worn long after Halloween. Here is my round-up of some Spooktacular Goodies that are so cool your little one will want to wear them well into the Winter months.
Hygge Winter Collection
A new collection from Annaliv, the Scandinavian inspired kidswear designer, has arrived. Combining the finest organic cottons and traditional Swedish woven ribbon, the Hygge Winter Collection tells a tale of wondrous forest exploration in the heart of a magical Scandinavian winter. Made using traditional methods in London, the collection features soft denim dresses and signature Annaliv boys blazers & bow ties, perfect for everyday and indeed any special day. Ideal for nestling by the fire, the range also includes boys and girls pyjamas along with the ‘little grow’ sleep suit and the best selling winter booties for the little ones. Awaiting the arrival of Julemanden and his Nissemen, or Father Christmas and his elves to you and me, has never been more Hygge…
Hygge… creating a nice, warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people around you.
Pantone is a company that forecasts color trends and sells color swatches, and are the global authority on color. It should come as no surprise that it is Pantone who announces the “it” color of the year – drumroll… the “it” color of 2014 is “Pantone 18 3224 Radiant Orchid,” a pinkish-purple. The color is versatile and symbolizes originality. In my opinion, no one expresses their creativity and originality better than kids making Radiant Orchid the perfect color choice for little ones. Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and warmth, and I love this color in everything from outerwear, to dresses, to shoes and accessories, and even for toys.
Anyone that knows me knows that I don’t like surprises; however, when pregnant I did not find out the sex of my baby. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the mystery of not knowing, and looked forward to finding out my child’s gender in the delivery room. I was often asked if I was concerned about decorating my baby’s room not knowing its gender and my plan was simple: a neutral bedroom, filled with fun pops of bright colors, and beautiful unique pieces I curated from my travels (or at least looked like I did). That’s why I am excited to share with you, The Greater Good, an online boutique that curates a wide selection of unique products (which I love) from makers from around the world, all easily delivered to your front door. Here are some of my favorite products from The Greater Good. Enjoy!
Moody hues like dark plum, black and navy not only remind me of Picasso’s Blue Period, but these colors also summon the fall season. To find new fall fashions, I love LaDiDa, a curated collection of the entire world of kids’ fashion available online. From Paris to Brazil and beyond, LaDiDa has the best of the best from over one hundred different children’s clothing brands the world over. Here are some of my fall favorites for both boys and girls, from Ladida.com
